Woo hoo! I've been waiting for this one. I've been listening to a live show from two weeks ago, and the new songs sound great!

I preordered this from the label, and it arrived yesterday...two weeks early. I've only listened to it all the way through once, but I like it. At first listen it's not as good as the brilliant "Let Freedom Ring", but it's very good. And I can tell that this is one of those records that is going to grow on me.

I got an early copy as well, and I actually think it's Chuck's best record ever. I love the sound of it, the lyrics (it's an album all about SF), how uptempo it is-- if you're a Chuck fan, you're gonna be happy. If you're not, or you're curious, I actually think it's the best place to start. "Put your hands together / pull your hand apart."
Jeff

As I expected, I love this more with every listen.

only listened to it once, but i have to admit i am quite disappointed. the songs just don't have that something that most chuck prophet songs have, something is missing, for me anyway.

For me this is a "grow on you record" Hopefully you'll have the same experience Renny. I love Willie Mays, Temple Beautiful, and Castro Halloween.

Jeff you didn't steer me wrong at all, it was a no-brainer for me. i would have bought it anyway. my favorites, probably 'age of miracles'' or 'no other love'

Up until this release I was only familiar with Prophet's work with Green On Red. But I must say this album gets better with each listen, nice blend of different sounds and influences, and his guitar playing/songwriting is wonderful. And anyone who can name check Willie Mays, Carol Doda, Jim Jones and Bill Graham in the same tune is a genius in my book.
