Have any of you read Morning Glories? The first trade just came out recently (the floppies started last summer). It is smoking its way through some other people I know, has sold out at all stores in my area, and Amazon and Best Buy are sold out of it.

People I know have said they love it, and are passing it around and trying to track down the floppy issues. Apparently, the #1 is high priced now.

It's about some boarding school for gifted teens, and then weird stuff starts happening, like Lost or something. I don't know, haven't read it.

But I plan to.

There was a 12 page preview at CBR when the book came out back when:

I've paged through it. I'm all for girls in prep school uniforms, but the plot looks like a horror film, which doesn't interest me.

Weird how Image went from the worst company on the market to perhaps the best over the last 19 years.

Weird that Image lasted 19 years.

I flipped though the trade at my LCS on Thursday and it looked okay, but didn't grab me enough to pick it up (maybe if I had a lighter stack of books in my hand).

Looking at reviews on Amazon, I see:

"Lost meets Runaways"
"The Prisoner but set in a boarding school."

I may pick up the trade after all...

Just read through the first two trades. Really liked it. Gives you just enough mystery to want to keep reading, and enough resolution to not fill like you are left hanging.

Should have bigger buzz. Two drawbacks I see is the covers make it seem like your reading a school girl fetish book, Which it is not. And the Art is like early invincible. Good, but not quite great. Some characters are hard to distinguish. But the story more than makes up for it.

I definitely think you should give it a try. It is now in my buy the trade as soon as its released category.

I ended up reading the first trade shortly after starting this thread. I found the quality high, but I was a little uneasy about the "Lost" factor. I'm afraid the writer is pulling things out of his butt as he goes along. I decided to trade-wait for the second trade and then I never got around to reading it yet.

Second trade was stronger (more intriguing) than the first. Definitely a bit of a lost factor. Even has a good lost visual joke/easter egg in the second trade. I would hope with the writers awareness he would avoid the trappings. But regardless I enjoyed the lost ride even with being unsatisfied by the conclusion.

So if I can enjoy the journey than I figure it is worth it.
