Oh, wow.  He wrote the first comicbook history book I ever read -- Marvel: Five Fabulous Decades of the World's Greatest Comics  http://www.amazon.com/dp/0810938219/?tag=imwan-20I LOVED this book as a kid... I got it out of the library over and over until my aunt got me a copy for Christmas. I really, really loved this book. His DC: 60 Years book wasn't quite as good as I recall. RIP, Les, and thanks for the childhood memories.

What is the source for this news?
Daniels' Wikipedia page (cited above) still lists him as being alive. I searched a number of comics news sites and even did a Google search. I found no news anywhere about Daniels having died.
Are we sure that he really is dead?

The Comics Reporter is confirming.
This is likely the death that Steve Bissette referenced yesterday on Facebook but wasn't. He wasn't naming names until it went public.
