Never really watched any of them. For the better part of the 90s I didn't watch much TV at all, other than sports. Now I've done a 180.

NYPD BLUE. (Right up until the SAVED BY THE BELL kid came aboard -- things stagnated like a mo-fo after that). I loved Caruso, Smits, and yes, Schroeder. All of 'em. And Charlotte Ross is sublime.

I can not. Stand. L&O.

Never saw any HOMICIDE.

Homicide was brilliant...amazing show.

NYPD Blue was a close second..especially that first season arc...great stuff..i find it lost a little when Caruso left.

Law and order has its ups and downs..Orbach was amazing as was the season with Chris Noth and Paul Sorvino.

HOMICIDE is worth watching just for Andre Braugher's work as Frank Pembleton.

And of course any chance to see Richard Belzer as John Munch is a good thing.

I was just talking to a friend yesterday about how much better Munch was written on H:LOTS compared to L&O:SVU.

I had to vote for H:LOTS.

Hell, Munch was better written on his one episode appearance on The X-Files than he ever has been on L&O:SVU.

NYPD Blue. I've always found amazing stuff in every season, every partner combination. Yep, even the Saved by the Bell guy.

Not every single episode, mind you - every show has its missteps. But consistantly I enjoy that series more than Homicide (which was okay, but never grabbed me - except maybe for the episode where all the characters explained to the audience how typical cases go, and how people should actually behave when being interrogated - hint: CALL YOUR LAWYER IMMEDIATELY!!) and Law & Order (which is one of my favourite shows, mind you).

Aw man, this is a tough one, but I give it to NYPD over HOMICIDE in a squeaker, though I love 'em both almost equally.

I voted for Homicide, but I'd rate it equally with Law and Order. I could never talk myself into caring about the characters on NYPD Blue.

Homicide is my choice. On Law & Order, it's all about the investigation and trial. On NYPD Blue it was usually about the cops. Homicide is the first cop show I saw that really seemed to focus on the victim, and the effect of the murder on the cops working the case. Throw in writing, directing, and acting that could all reasonably be described as brilliant, and it's an easy choice for me.

ah, Twin Peaks. I still steal ideas from that show for some of my Hunter: the Reckoning, Vampire: the Masquerade, and Call of Cthulhu games :D

It doesn't count if all you were watching for was Sipowicz naked butt, Frank.
