I thought it was a Mork & Mindy reference, in response to the Orson Scott Card thing about Geek Wisdom. :)

I figured it was the Mork and Mindy Orson.

If it were about any other Orson, then there would probably have been a surname right in the thread title.

I am surprised by the poll results.

Bannings: One too few . . .
The first thought I had was Orson Scott Card, because of the current thread where Stephen Segal is talking about Card's comments about the book he wrote with Eric and Zaki.

Orson Bean is my hero, not only for his quick wit and comedic timing, but because he would anthropomorphize his written answers on To Tell the Truth.

Kitty Carlisle and Beggy Cass would write out a simple 1, 2, or 3, Orson Bean would hold up a card that had a cartoon of a 2 that was an airline pilot, or a 1 that was a lion tamer. Whatever the occupation of the contestant, Orson would make a toon out of it.

Okay, now I'd be voting for Orson from the comic Spaceman.

Seriously - it's excellent. Orson is like Sin City's Marv, only in the future. A horrible, horrible future.

I'll never equate Orson with the guy Mork talked to at the end of every episode, because the entire time I watched the show I thought he was calling "Ausin". I didn't know it was Orson until sometime in the 90s. In my head I still think of it as "Ausin".
