Streaming over at NPR. Excellent album, love it on the first listen. Some girl group, some Wire, Gang of Four, straight up punk, some no-wave, song altering keyboard work, mix in their own styles and kick-ass guitar/drum churn and you have one hell of an album.

This is a great album........been playing it over and over since getting it. I'll put it up there with Smithereens 2011 as best new release of the year.

I ended up discovering Wild Flag about 6 months ago by stumbling over this great cover version of a legendary artist......

I'm also seeing them live next month...can't wait!!

I just picked this up last night. Listening to it again now...it's fantastic. I'll be missing their Philly show though. :(

Finally gave this album a spin today and it's really excellent. There's a real muscular beat in their songs and not a second is wasted. Great vocals and songwriting (much better than anything Sleater-Kinney ever did, IMO). The tracks are a lot of fun, and it's good to hear a supergroup this year that's deserving of that title.

Loved that show. Really energetic takes on the album tracks that never sound rote. They sound like they're having a blast onstage and the new songs are as good as anything on the album, which bodes well for this being more than a one-off. Love the cover of "See No Evil" , and Janet Weiss is now officially in my all time top ten of rock drummers.

I don't think you can download these, but then I've never tried.
