Some confusion on this one... Amazon is still currently listing the October 11 date, while Hawkins' website suggests the album has been pushed back to February 2012.

It looks like the release date of this is now June 19th, at least according to the Amazon.com order link.

A long time coming, this. I've listened through, and I like it.I can't really be specific, but if you like her previous work I think you'll like this. At times, her voice has a bit more of a husk to it at times, which I kind of like. It's nice to have her back.

I think this is really good.
I love the different facets to Sophie's voice here: soft and gentle, husky and straining, reaching for higher notes than I recall, sometimes all within one song! There's a lot to take in on the CD version, but on the first few listens I especially love the pop rock of "Betchya Got A Cure For Me", the percussive and spare take on Nina Simone's "Sinnerman", the soulful, passionate "I Don't Need You" and "Gone Baby"(where Sophie really strains her voice in a way I love), "The Land, The Sea & The Sky", which reminds me of latter-day Laura Nyro, and the jazzy-torchy vibe of "Dream Street And Chance".
Definitely a welcome return for me!
