I'm having some fine-art work published in Strange Attractor Journal 3 - a tome dedicated to celebrating unpopular culture - I mention it here not so much for my pieces but because it is such a splendidly odd ball venture and due to be one of The Guardian's paperback choices this Saturday to boot.

Check it out at http://www.strangeattractor.co.uk/index.html

If Linda wants to sticky this for a while I shan't struggle....

I looked at the site, Jo. Looks like a fun read. I especially loved all the old woodcuts/engravings that were floating about in the background. I absolutely loved the image used for the online store (reproduced here for the edification of all).

Thanks Simon - quite apart from the eclectic content I think the designer has done a fantastic job!
Got a good write up in The Guardian too although mysteriously they failed to mention my own modest contribution!

Jo - Perhaps you could post some of your contributions on this thread, seeing as how they were omitted, accidentally I'm sure, from the The Guardian?

Here they are...they were the last of a long series of digitally manipulated floral images.

Oooooh! Interesting!

They have a hypnotic quality to them, Jo. They're intriguingly beautiful.

Pretty cool Jo. I'm seeing face4s and all sorts of stuff in them, almost like rorschach blots.

Thanks Simon, John - I actually had an exhibition of earlier ones in the series called "Rorschach Revisited" (too much reading "Watchmen" thats my trouble).

Here are some from the early series - they sold well as limited copies but were expensive to have made - I had them printed large scale (30" x 30") with archival inks on canvas, not cheap - next time maybe I'll try flogging the image outright and let someone else worry about that stuff.
The sepia ones I'm selling as signed A4 prints, nickel and dime stuff really but perhaps something will come from the saj exposure.

Is this like those 'magic eye' things? I never could make out the 3D picture of Jupiter, I'm sure I'll never see the munchkins....

I can't see Darkseid.

Just kidding. Very cool stuff.

Please take this as a compliment (as it's meant) but there's a real Georgia O'Keeffe feel to your work...

is she an inspiration?

Thank you! - but actually I am not a big fan.
Although her works reproduce quite well if you see the originals they are a bit underwhelming ... but yes, I can see where you are coming from, the similarity arises because both our works are very concerned with form (I trained as a sculptor not a painter).
Direct inspirations on my work are more likely to come from the ranks of the lesser known like Max Ernst or Joseph Cornell.
