Amazon added an image and track list (now on the 1st post).
I'm very underwhelmed. For all of the surprises and rare songs at these concerts, the only new choice on here is Earthbound....a very good song he gave to Wendy James but didn't perform live until this tour. There are many other fun things including Beatles and McCartney covers as Girl, And Your Bird Can Sing, and Let Me Roll It, that were done at the Wiltern shows not included anywhere here. I guess the Stones cover of Out Of Time did make it.
I'm not buying this deluxe edition.....but would buy the CD and DVD if sold separately.

I'd buy the standard cd//DVD version of this release if it ever hits the stores. I have my doubts. I love Elvis but there has been an unfortunate pattern of setting release plans and not delivering- the Live Archive series that stopped after two releases; the Deluxe Edition series that also stopped after two releases; the GH disc that was planned for early this year. I hope this gets a full release but I'm not counting on it.

I'd buy the cd, no interest in a dvd unless it doesn't impact the price. I have so many unwatched music dvd's (well over 500), that someone needs to be a specially interesting visual performer or I'm not going to bother at this point.

Looks like a new date of Dec. 6. Don't know if this adds anything new, but here ya go anyway...
From antimusic.com: UMe have set a December 6, 2011 release date for a new 3-disc (CD, DVD, 10" vinyl EP) live box set from Elvis Costello & the Imposters called 'The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook,' which recorded over a 2-night stand at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on May 11 and 12, 2011. Limited to 1500 copies worldwide, each set is individually numbered with a special commemoration card personally signed by Elvis Costello.
The first disc is a CD recording culled from both nights' performances, shows which The Los Angeles Times said were "the kind of uniquely invigorating experience that warrants a buzzword all its own: inspiring."
The second disc is a DVD from Costello's show on May 12, 2011, including a special guest appearance by the Bangles. The DVD contains bonus footage including an alternate intro by Napoleon Dynamite (aka Elvis Costello), and behind-the-scenes moments captured with the Imposters—Steve Nieve, Davey Faragher and Pete Thomas—as well as extra performances not included in the main set of the show.
The third disc is a 10-inch vinyl EP with four songs only available in this set. The super deluxe package includes a 40-page hardcover book packed with candid and concert photos, a tour diary of Costello's musings from each tour stop, a 20" x 30" concert tour poster and a limited edition postcard. This collection is housed in a lavish box complete with a spinning replica of "The Spectacular Spinning Songbook" on the front cover.
"The Spectacular Spinning Songbook" made its first appearance in 1986 at the Beverly Theatre in Los Angeles during the "Costello Sings Again Tour." Earlier this year, Elvis Costello and the Imposters set out on The Revolver Tour and, for the first time in 25 years, Costello once again allowed his set-list to be chosen by "The Spectacular Spinning Songbook," a monumental game-show type wheel spun by select fans and featuring songs from his latest critically acclaimed release National Ransom, plus new renditions of hits, rarities and very unexpected covers. Expanded from its initial short run in the spring to encompass summer and fall dates, the tour was greeted by popular acclaim and rave notice across the country, with Rolling Stone reporting, "Costello worked the stage like a burlesque-club emcee, cracking wise at a mile a minute and spinning a dandy's walking stick."
Since the super deluxe Elvis Costello & the Imposters: The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook!!! is a limited edition set, a single and double-disc version will be available next year.

Agree with everyone here - this is WAY too expensive for what little is being offered, so I think I'll pass.
Also, keep in mind that if you DON’T get these Hip-O (or Rhino Handmade, etc.) sets (for whatever reason), sooner or later a few copies will be floating around on Amazon or EBay for even MORE $$$$ that one didn’t want (or wasn’t able) to spend the first time around!!
We at http://www.elviscostello.com find ourselves unable to recommend “The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook” as the price appears to be either a misprint or a satire.
All our attempts to have this number revised have been fruitless so we are taking the following unusual step.
If you want to buy something special for your loved one at this time of seasonal giving, we suggest, “Ambassador Of Jazz” - a cute little imitation suitcase containing ten re-mastered albums by one of the most beautiful and loving revolutionaries who ever lived – Louis Armstrong.
The box should be available for under one hundred and fifty American dollars and includes a number of other tricks and treats.
Frankly the music is vastly superior.
If you should still want the component items in the above mentioned elaborate hoax, they will be available separately at a more affordable price in the New Year, unless you are one of those pirates who imagines they are evangelists or that other people’s rights absolve their own thievery, in which case this is between you and your dim conscience.

Man, Elvis must be furious about this. To have to tell his own fans not to buy his own product? I would guess that that doesn't bode well either for the live series he has going with that label, I suppose... bummer. I was really hoping for volume three sometime soon.

I read that more as a rebuke of those who would post the entire set online once it leaked and/or on the release date, claiming all the while that they are "spreading the word" about the artist or that "music wants to be free"...
