Can you answer me a question, but try to make it spoiler free?

I am now nearly half way through, just starting the
Spoiler: show
first chapter with Melisandre. And the book is sloow, feeling a bit like - if not exactly like - padding. Does it get any better? At this point, Jorah Mormont is taking Tyrion (or trying to take Tyrion) to Meereen, Daenerys is struggling to control her dragons, Arya has not been seen or presented as yet; it's all very bloody and I really enjoyed it for the first couple of hundred pages but everything for the last two hundred has felt irrelevant and dull. I am half seriously thinking of leaving it for a while.

What say you?

It gets better in the second half and the pace becomes much more rapid; stick with it.

Thank God for that! I am glad you told me that because I was losing faith a bit. Cheers!

Don't stop. You have big surprise coming. It made me angrier than what happened to Ned Stark in Game of Thrones.
