Those are the second best. At Chris Reeve's insistence, his Superman outfit was spot on.

These are two different questions.

Nothing will ever top the Adam West Batman for me. Him, Robin, the villains, the Batmobile, the other Bat-vehicles and Bat-weapons ... just perfect.

Same. Although I could have just as easily gone with Reeve's Superman or The Shadow or even The Phantom. Pretty much all of them have been spot on, mind you the movie quality in those examples ranges greatly, but the costume quality has all been superb.

I picked Iron Man but accidentally ticked the Thor button. Whoops.

I went Iron Man as well. Most of the spandex set don't have the exaggerrated and hyper-defined musculature coming through their suits, meanwhile Iron Man looked like a comicbook character straight up.

But that's not part of the costume. Way to move the goalposts.

The Rocketeer's costume was very close to the comic.

Three questions, now. No wonder Hanzo wins all the polls.

I voted Reeve Superman although I wish his cape had been shorter. A shorter cape is just going to give the illusion that Superman is bigger. I don't know why they insist on it being so long.

I think Rocketeer's was the first costume that, literally, looked to me like it came straight off the comic book page. Even the Superman costume of Reeve's didn't. The way the cape connected to the costume was different, the chest emblem wasn't the same size, and the boots were higher than they were in the comics. It was an excellent translation, but my impression was that Rocketeer was a flawless translation.

It's part of the way the costume fits.

Iron Man.

I would not have guessed ten years ago that we'd have Iron Man become a MAJOR player, with HUGE films that got the armour dead-on PERFECT.

I went with Iron Man. I think that's one of the reason it had such a broad appeal -- it didn't require "civilians" to suspend too much of their disbelief and buy into a costume convention. The armor looked like a reasonable facsimile of what it was. The costume effect was secondary.

I liked the costume in the Batman: Dead End fan-made trailer.

Yeah, that was a great costume. The video itself was mediocre, but the costume was fantastic.

The Alec Baldwin Shadow was a pretty decent translation.

For a fan-made trailer, I thought it was great.

I thought it was horrible and spotlighted how ridiculous Batman suit is. I die inside a little but everytime someone holds it as an example of a great interpretation.

As the poll, I pretty much have liked most of them, but I'll go with Iron Man's, even though it's not technically a costume.
