I have the rare opportunity to go to the movies tommorrow night. The field's wide open, and as luck would have it, there doesn't seem to anything I'm dying to see.

The only movie out that I've seen is Rocky Balboa.

What should I see?

Any buzz about Bridge to Terabithia?

Ghost Rider?

Pursuit of Happyness?

What about this Children of Men?

Ghost Rider and Terabithia won't be out for two more weeks.

If it's still out anywhere near you, go see Casino Royale. :)

Seen Casino Royale. <<swoon>>

Whoops on Ghost Rider and Terabithia. They're listed at my theater, BUT they don't start for two weeks (as you say).

I saw Volver last week, great film. Highly recommended if it's playing in your area.

See The Departed.

Crap. Forgot to say I saw that one, too. It seemed like ages ago (opening weekend). That definitely would be a good call.

This is not a good time to have a movie-going opportunity.

Volver -- it's not on at our regular haunt, but it is on somewhere in the area. I'm trying to sell it as a cross between a chick flick for the wife, and an artsy thing for me (cuz its furrin).

Jay, I enjoyed Children of Men very much. It's a bit bleak, but it's also thoughtful, provocative, and has some nice humor here and there. I like Clive Owen as an actor a lot, and Michael Caine has a great role, as well.

Jay, you're going with the wife? Haven't seen it, but I heard Pursuit of Happyness is good.

Children of Men looks like a definite rental to me (translation: looks intriguing and probably up my alley, but I don't need to see it on a big screen).

Children of Men is gaining on the backstretch. I've been a little asleep at the wheel on this one. After a few well placed clicks, and some Jedi mind trick statements to the wife, a certain destiny is beginning to take shape.

That one is shaping up as the safety default. Some guys at work said it was good. And it's kind of a "hermaphrodite flick" (half chick, half guy).

I thought it was just a crossdressing flick. My bad.

I don't know. I just like commenting on hermaphrodites.

Always makes me think of earthworms...

This one raced out ahead, then pulled a Barbaro. Turns it its playing at 3:00 and 10:00 only. Like an Oscar tour. It's out for now.

The dark hose candidate with my wife is now "going out to eat."

Going Out to Eat is good, but I much preferred the sequel, Coffee and Moonlight.

I personally would see Letters from Iwo Jima.

because, there's nothing like a subtitled brutal war flick in Japanese to put a lady in a happy mood :)

Ugh, not me! Going Out To Eat was a GREAT debut, but Coffee And Moonlight just bored me to tears. Now the third installment of the series, Fucking, was excellent.
