Image for me. Savage Dragon, Invincible, Jack Staff, Godland and Powers was at its best when it was there.

I guess Dark Horse wins by default, as I'm getting all of the Mignola-verse books, but Red 5 publishes my current favourite comic, Atomic Robo.

Oh, big surprise that Fraxon would pick one called Dark Horse.

Nowadays,I pick IDW:it's like Fantagraphics without the pretension.
Runners up; Kitchen Sink and First Comics.

I think it was Monk who turned me on to Star Wars Tales and other Dark Horse Star Wars comics and I like Hellboy. I have to go with Dark Horse.

If it's Star Wars it probably wasn't me. I don't generally do licensed comics.

I'd have to say Dark Horse at the moment.

For me, it's a photo-finish with IDW, Dark Horse, and Image.

For me, it depends on the type of license. When Dynamite licenses, say, Lone Ranger, they do their own version of the character, not having to tie into what other publishers have done. That's more interesting to me than a typical DC or Marvel superhero book where the creative team is tied down to a very rigid continuity.

When they do Battlestar Galactica, I imagine they have to stick to the TV series pretty tightly. That's even worse than doing a Marvel or DC book, and I've no interest in that kind of licensed project at all.

Not sure how you can consider these publishers as "Indie" when they're doing licensed properties. Some of the publishers listed are just smaller versions of DC and Marvel.

The great thing about those Charlton Aparo reprints is that it has to be on paper that is lightyears better than the original Charlton paper. I'm so excite.
