I've only been waiting for this news forever. Looks like they can be ordered via Steve's website.

Rolling Tide Records To Release "Little Stevie Orbit", "Steve Forbert", and "Don't Look Down" on August 2.

SteveForbert.com receives a lot of questions and requests, but easily the most common question in our inbox is "why aren't "Little Stevie Orbit" and Steve Forbert available on CD?". We're happy to be able to tell you that the wait is finally over and the albums have never sounded so good!

"Little Stevie Orbit" and "Steve Forbert" will be released on CD for the first time ever on August 2! Both of these albums have been out-of-print since their original vinyl pressings in the early '80s and have never been available digitally in any format until now.

"Little Stevie Orbit" is fully remastered and features the original thirteen tracks from the 1980 album along with five outtakes from those sessions. In addition, a free bonus disc recorded in Denver, CO on Thanksgiving 1980 is included with the package. "Orbit" is the follow-up to 1979's "Jackrabbit Slim" and includes the singles "Get Well Soon", "Schoolgirl", and "Song For Katrina".

The free bonus disc, "On Tour: Live in Denver, CO", captures Steve Forbert live with the Orbit touring band on Thanksgiving 1980 and features 20 tracks in total - including songs from "Alive On Arrival," "Jackrabbit Slim," and "Little Stevie Orbit".

"Steve Forbert (The Fourth Album)", originally released in 1982, has also been fully remastered and will include the eleven tracks from the original release plus nine bonus tracks recorded during the sessions for the album. The self-titled album features guest appearances from Sonny Terry, Larry Campbell, Sid McGinnis, David Sanborne, and The Jordanaires.

"Little Stevie Orbit" and "Steve Forbert" were remastered in May 2011 by Dennis Drake at The Music Lab in Morganville, NJ.

In addition to "Little Stevie Orbit" and Steve Forbert, August 2nd will see the release of a new live album entitled "Don't Look Down". The bulk of the sixteen tracks on this solo acoustic release were recorded live at Puck in Doylestown, PA on March 27, 2010 with the additional tracks recorded in 2011 in Houston, TX and Marietta, OH.

"Don't Look Down" features a recording of "Don't Look Down, Pollyanna" on CD for the first time - a studio demo featuring Garry Tallent on bass was released on a seven track digital EP in October 2009.

All three albums will be made available individually from SteveForbert.com (and at upcoming shows) and in two unique, deluxe package options detailed below. These CD releases will not be released in stores.

Super Deluxe Package (Limited to 250):

"Little Stevie Orbit" / "Live In Denver, CO" 2 CD remastered set
"Steve Forbert (The Fourth Album)" 20 track remastered disc
"Don't Look Down" New 16 track live album recorded in 2010/2011
"Cattle Punching on a Jackrabbit" T-Shirt (Available only with the deluxe packages)
Signed, Concert Used Harmonica (w/ case)
Shipped Priority Mail for U.S. Customers
Truly limited to 250
$70

The "Super Deluxe Package" includes all three of the new CD releases ("Little Stevie Orbit", "Steve Forbert", and "Don't Look Down) along with a new t-shirt entitled "Cattle Punching on a Jackrabbit" which reproduces the classic image found on the back cover of the "Jackrabbit Slim" LP/CD. The white t-shirts are available in men's medium, large, and extra large. This package also includes a concert-used harmonica autographed by Steve Forbert. We can't guarantee that the harmonica that you receive will be in 100% working condition (not that you'd want to use it - right?), but it was used by Steve in a

town near you. Each harmonica comes in a Hohner plastic case and will be wrapped for safe travel. This offer is truly limited to 250. Once they're gone, they're gone!

Renny: about 25 years. :ohyes:

My order is in--decided to settle for the CDs + T-shirt package, didn't need to spend an extra $20 for the used harmonica.

My package arrvied today!
:runjoy:

The good news: real CDs, not CD-rs. Remastered by Dennis Drake. Sound great. Not a lot in the way of liner notes, but what's there is, at least, informative.

On the flip side: between both CDs, all but two of the studio bonus tracks already appeared on the collections Young, Guitar Days and/or More Young, Guitar Days. The 1980 concert disc more than makes up for it, though.

My Steve Forbert CD collection is finally complete!

Hard to believe these were never issued on CD. But if I'm correct, wasn't Forbert really liked by critics, but not a big commercial seller??

Glad to see some never-before-on-CD titles are finally out there.

To the general public, Forbert is likely remembered as a one-hit wonder--"Romeo's Tune" reached #11 in 1979, and pulled his second LP, Jackrabbit Slim, into the Top 20.

Some critics considered Forbert another in the long line of "The Next Dylans" on the strength of his debut LP. He's managed a long and moderately successful career, recording and touring for 35 years.

Hey Jimbo, and all, Steve Forbert is still playing great shows. Listening to a show from 07 as I type this (this one with a band). Been doing sound for him every time he comes through World Cafe Live here in Philly for the last 7 years. Steve records every show he does (wink wink nudge nudge). A great song writer and performer. He just keeps getting better. Truly a wonderful human being.
