Okay, when I say we, I do not mean me. But I was just looking at my profile and was going to update it and that got me thinking...
Who uses Jabber, and ICQ, and all those instant messengers? And where are the entries for Twitter and Facebook? heck there isnt even a MySpace option on there...though that could probably be categorized with Jabber. (I don't know what Jabber is and I won't Google it so no need to educate me...unless it is really cook then please do...but do it in a private way as I don't want people to know that I didn't know but wanted to know...buzz me on IRC.)

I have an ICQ account. I don't use it any more than I use the other instant messengers, but I have pretty much all of them.
But updating a phpbb board can be a royal pain. I imagine service integrations like the ones you are asking about will appear with the next iteration of the phpbb.
