Locke & Key. It's a Stephen King-esque horror story, right? Then why is the art inappropriately big-footed and cartoony? It's a disturbing mix and makes the whole thing just not work.

Preacher. I've tried twice now and just don't see the appeal. It's not even that it isn't well done, it's just that it feels so one-note that it doesn't work for me.

The Walking Dead. Kirkman's got some great ideas, but his execution ranges from average to laughably bad over the course of the series. I'd buy a Tales of the Walking Dead series by other writers in a heartbeat, though.

This is mine, too. And for the same reason.

I agree. To me it was like listening to a "shock" comedian. After awhile it just becomes all shock and no substance.

Asterios Polyp. After seeing what Mazza was capable of, I wanted potboiler material (like Darwyn Cooke is doing). This Scott McCloud-esque abstract indie stuff is ... I don't know.

Asterios Polyp definitely isn't for everyone. I liked it, but I also flipped through it a few times before I got it, so I knew what to expect.

To be fair, you don't like any new comics unless Dan Jurgens is drawing them. :)

I like Ditko's new comics. That Britpop thing was really bad. If they ever make a movie of it, Menswear will do the soundtrack.

Strangers in Paradise -- it's a beautifully drawn bad sitcom.

I'll make it my life's mission to find something new that's not Jurgens or Ditko that you like. :)

I read almost the whole thing in one sitting. I like the romance part, but the assassin element was unnecessary.

Preacher had one of the most moving and emotionally satisfying endings of any comic series I've ever collected. Ennis will always be great to me for that series.

Very few comics are something I "couldn't stand". I'm usually just underwhelmed, like with my recent reading of Parker the Hunter. Stuff that's decent and is good enough as a time killer, but fails to move me or "grip" me on any level. Stuff I could stop reading and if I never went back and saw how it ended, I'd be just fine.

I don't get Sandman. I know I need to read past the second TPB, though. I think I might like Death: The High Cost of Living more.

Avengers by Bendis & Romita Jr. - Romita Jr. couldn't even make me last beyond the 2nd issue, I can now say I've given Bendis enough chances and that I don't like the way he writes.

Daredevil Bendis is so different from the other Bendises that it's hard to believe they are the same writer.

Tom Strong. I love Sprouse's art, but that was the book that made me say I just can't take Alan Moore's pretention any more.

Morrison Batman. After really liking his Superman (and now, really enjoying his X-Men), I read nearly his entire Batman oeuvre and was like, "WTF is this shit?"
