I cast my vote for Star Trek.

It's been kind of a lean decade.

The correct answer is Moon. If you've not seen it, you're doing yourself a disservice.

I went with District 9 which had the most unique sci-fi take of the bunch. Moon and Cloverfied were contenders though.

Children of Men isn't as well regarded as it should be. It is indeed amazing. And it takes a lot for me and Monk to agree on something, remember.

Also, I'm a big fan of Minority Report.

I voted Children of Men thinking that no one else would vote for it. Now I'm cool!

I liked Sunshine too.

You left Battlefield Earth off of the list.

Good job!

We don't have one for the 2000's.

Of course I haven't seen Moon yet, and it's on my list of "Must Watch" movies...

Moon. Not really an action-y film, but great nonetheless.
Really emotional, dense, good acting, suspenseful.
The end gets me every time.

I have not seen this Moon thing of which you speak. I shall have to remedy that.

Trivia: Moon was directed by David Bowie's son

I really like 28 Days Later but I don't think of it as a sci-fi film so I didn't vote for it. With a movie like Alien you can fudge things a little and call it sci-fi even though a lot of the tropes are horror, but 28 Days Later is such an homage to earlier zombie films that it seems to be clearly placed in the horror genre.

Children of Men is an incredible movie. Has anybody the Russian film Hotel Ozone? Or Time of the Wolf? There's this interesting sub genre of super realistic end of the world movies that I really enjoy.

Yet I hear from zombie fans that it's not really a zombie movie because the 'zombies' aren't undead, they have a virus. You can't win!

Wow. It's a rare thing for me to disagree with Monk, Raphael, Flamebait AND Tater all at the same time. This makes me question my whole worldview again.

COM seemed like a preachy, glorified 70s Made-For-TV movie to me.

What's happening to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The idea of a virus or some other disease running rampant thru civilization is an old sci-fi trope.

So rest easy, Hanzo.
