Hitchcock - 4
Kubrick - 3
Scorsese - 3
Coppola - 3

Anyway, glad you guys have enjoyed this. It's been fun so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing what film pulls it out in the end.

I hereby propose that the winning film gets its own IMWAN weekend.

I know you are taking the ribbing I am giving in the spirit it is given.

Oh, of course! I only tallied because I was curious what the actual numbers were. I don't mind the ribbing one bit. What fun would life be if people didn't bust on one another?

On some other boards, people are sometimes a bit touchy. It is a trickle down effect.

Probably. Too bad, though. All the others are better movies.

RAIDERS has a geek/nostalgia factor going for it.

Personally, I'm rooting for CASABLANCA. I'd vote for that one over any of the other three.

Raiders and Godfather in the finals? Or Raiders and Casablanca?

Have you decided the pairing of the final four?

It could go two ways (1) the Nazi films go head-to-head, or (2) the golden age classics go head-to-head. Personally I'd like the see the ultimate showdown being between Golden Age cinema vs. Silver Age cinema.

Not yet, Scott. I was thinking about letting chance decide it and simply drawing straws, but I've not yet made that decision. In the morning I'll figure it out. I quite like your idea, though.

I notice that once again, Casablanca and Raiders got the highest vote counts....

Glad you posted the link to these old polls. I wanted to comment on the differences between The Godfather and GoodFellas and now I do not have to start a new poll...

And the winner of the IMWAN Film vs. Film Challenge is ...

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK!

Which makes this weekend Indiana Jones weekend - and Raiders specifically - here at IMWAN.

Thanks to everyone who made these Challenge threads a lot of fun. Every last post just added to the rampaging beast this competition became. It was a blast to talk movies, engage in some friendly debate, and get excited to revisit some classics we haven't seen in a while. I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did.

Cool. Did not see this coming from the beginning. some worthy-and some unusual, but still worthy-choices in the poll.

Perhaps we can have various genre themed polls at other times.

How the $#*%* did Jaws lose this time?!?

Just kidding El Presidente.

I have to admit, I was thrilled that Indy got to lay the smackdown on all the other films.

OK, I changed my mind to the BEST film, from a great, ignored film.
