http://neilyoungnews.thrasherswheat.org ... -1974.htmlCrosby and Nash discuss the new Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's 1974 reunion tour live album. "We recorded nine of the 35 stadium shows we did," says Nash. "We have about 42 songs and we're busy mixing them. We have about 12 to 15 mixes under our belt. We're talking to Neil about the resolution he wants everything at. Because of the world Neil is in, he wants it at the highest possible – which is always advisable." Crosby says he loves what he's heard from the set so far. "It's astounding," he says. "It was such an astounding band then."

The majority of projects announced by Crosby,Stills, Nash & Young never happen. Let's catalog these vaporware projects:
Stephen Stills box set Stephen Stills-DVD-A + CD reissue of debut solo album C,S,N & Y 1974 tour box set Newly discovered Buffalo Springfield outtakes found on multitrack tapes by Atlantic Records Stephen Stills/Jimi Hendrix jams Neil Young-Toast Neil Young-Chrome Dreams Neil Young-Atlanta '76 concert Crosby,Stills & Nash-cover versions album Stephen Stills & Manassas-Box set ....and, of course, Neil Young-Archives Vol.2
Am I missing anything? These guys are the group that cried "wolf" one too many times.

I agree with you Phil, but I believe that there are too many lawyers, musicians, greedy managers, musical perfectionists (Neil) and egos that are delaying all these projects.

In 1969(at the time of the Woodstock festival and the first Crosby, Stills & Nash album) I was 13 years old, but this is now 2011, and I'm 55. If Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young wish to offer these recordings to their original fans, they don't have forever to continue playing egotistical games and taking their sweet time. The advantage(for Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) in releasing these materials soon, is that they will have some control over the compiling, mixes, masterings and packaging. If these become posthumous projects, the group will have no control over the result. Either this year or in 2012, Crosby & Nash will be 70 years old.

I want all this stuff. I want it now.
OK, they can toss the covers album. But I want everything else.
Nobody has mentioned the deluxe version of Deja Vu with an extra disc of unreleased tracks from the sessions.
Seriously, it sounded like they were pretty pumped about the '74 tour stuff. Crosby was raving about the material.

And since he's my fav of the 4, I'm stoked!

I didn't see this tour. I did see a late 70's CSN tour, & they pretty well sucked.

I understand the skepticism, given the evidence we have about the '74 tour, but Crosby wouldn't make that kind of statement unless he was really knocked out by what he was hearing. Say what you want about him, he's practically incapable of marketing hype. Overenthusiastic maybe, and extremely opinionated, but he's not afraid to say what he thinks, and I believe him. Given the studio output of all four immediately before and after the tour, I think it's very possible some amazing performances went down.

DC is also sober, so Nash is probably finding the best performances & there certainly could be overdubs!
