Ever run across something and wonder "What the hell were they thinking"?

Here's where you can show everyone your headshaking disgust by highlighting ill-conceived ideas.

Bad tattoo choices?

Dangerous toys?

Tasteless exploitation?

Jaw-droppingly bad movies or television shows?

Stereotypes run amok in advertising?

Nerve-grating songs?

Hideous fashion designs?

Anything that fell-out-of-style (or never caught on) should be placed here to warn future generations on the folly of man and his ego!

Maybe, but like Jello, there's always room for redundancy at IMWAN.

As for a "What were they thinking?" award, I'll nominate the 100% polyester leisure suit. :barf:

I didn't find anything under "regrettable", but it's a very broad topic.

I remember a nasty tasting soft drink from the 1970s: Shasta Diet Chocolate Soda! I looked online for a picture of the can, but came up empty ... except for this variation.

Diet Chocolate Fudge Soda?!? You shouldn't mix Nutra-Sweet, carbonation, and candy.

My least favorite 1970s toy would have to be CLACKERS!

http://www.super70s.com/Super70s/Culture/Fads/Clackers.asp

I learned at an early age that going along with a popular trend, in order to be part of the herd, can be hazardous to your health! I was terrible at Clackers except when I used them as bolas.... then I was a danger to living creatures and fragile household items.

You couldn't win with these damned things! If you sucked then you had rockhard acryllic balls slam against your head or wrist. If you mastered the novelty toy then you ran the risk of the hard plastic balls shattering in your face due to excessive clacking.

In many large companies, your email address is a combination of letters from your first and last names, as opposed to first initial and last name, because there would be overlap of a whole bunch of J. Smiths. At Microsoft, vendors (3rd parties contracted as a company, not as individuals) are prefixed with v- and agency temps are prefixed with a-. My alias is v-hankwi at microsoft dot com

The most regrettable choice in creating an employee's alias that I've seen was for a guy named Manuel Reynaldo. His alias was v-manure at microsoft dot com

My parents drank this when I was in high school. I fear this beverage very much.

This one has two different levels of "regrettable" for me. Regrettable for the Frito-Lay corporation that it offended mexicans. Regrettable for mexicans because they reacted as though all hispanics were identifiable with a crazed sombrero-wearing thief who stole "cronchy" corn chips.

I loved the Tex Avery "Frito Bandito" commercials as a kid. I had my mom buy snack-pack after snack-pack so I could get the cool pencil erasers, rings, and even flower seed packets with the bandito's image!

I get friends and co-workers pestering me with "why don't you get a tattoo?". I don't trust my taste to last a lifetime and I certainly don't trust a needle jockey to do a good job.

Exhibit A:
