Love his JSA and what I've read of his Green Lantern (up to Sinestro Corps War/Secret Origins - whichever came later). Enjoyed both of his Flash runs a lot. Liked what I read of his Superman (the Legion story and the origin arc - whatever it was called).

Geoff Johns brought me back to comics.

I hadn't read any comics in years. I bought a few random issues for stocking-stuffers one year and one of them was this:



At some point later on, I picked it up and read it. "Wow", I said to self, "This Johns fellow can write. I like this."

Then I started picking up JSA.

For a while there, as good as mainstream superhero comics ever have been if you ask me.

And I'm not being sarcastic.

All I know is that his Black Hand revamp gave me one of those rare, brief moments of pure and unadulterated happiness... while managing to put the entire career of Garth Ennis to shame in a single moment.

I will not hear another bad word about Geoff Johns.

Garth Ennis would make the mistake of using a Superman knock-off ripping someone's arm off, but Geoff Johns knows deep in his soul that it's only truly funny if you can convince DC into letting you do it with the real thing.

I should have seen it before, the guy writes for Robot Chicken. This is obviously someone with a well-defined sense of humor and I always made the mistake of thinking he did stuff like this for its dramatic purpose. He is the Stephen Colbert of comics. This is genius on an unrivaled plane.

I would not attempt to defend Infinite Crisis to anyone.

It's the comics equivalent of Cutthroat Island, tainting everyone and everything involved.

And people complain about Secret Wars ll.

Sorry, but you guys look really silly hanging your opinions on this panel when presented against all the great stuff he has done at DC. Should we condemn Ditko because he is a writer/artist who likes to gruesomely burn peoples faces off? Or should we judge him on his entire body of work?

Geoff Johns brought me back to comics to... then he showed me the door. Which lately I think is like seeing the light. Thanks Geoff!

I witnessed the pure power of Geoff Johns' awesomeness just now.

I showed that picture of Superboy to a co-worker who stared open-mouth at it for several seconds before uttering "I have to read that comic".

This is why Infinite Crisis should, nay, MUST be taught in schools. When the world witnesses his brillance, comic readership will multiply a thousand fold.

And the new Green Lantern movie passed up it's chance at bypassing Avatar as the highest grossing movie of all time by not using Geoff Johns' Black Hand as a villain. Every man, woman, and child would see that movie.

I want to know why Ross hates Geoff Johns so much that he would deny the brillance of that scene.
