Product Description
Torches, the highly anticipated debut album by Foster The People, is the soundtrack for an eternal summer. Produced by Paul Epworth (Adele + Florence and the Machine), Rich Costey (Muse + Interpol), and Greg Kurstin (Beck + Red Hot Chili Peppers), Torches delivers on both the promise of their breakthrough chart-topping single Pumped Up Kicks and the promise of this young band out of Los Angeles. "We just want people to feel better about their lives." The sound is universally uplifting combining influences from alternative's greats mixed with songs that make you dance. "Accessible yet challenging, gleaming yet gritty, pop yet petrifying: Foster The People are a fresh evolution of modern music." - NME

Been listening to this on repeat, and the Best Buy bonus cuts are two of my favorites on the album, so go for that one if you are interested in this album. They are not the same recordings of the songs that were floating around last year, which I assume were demos.

Pumped Up Kicks is a great song.

Got my copy from Amazon today. Amazingly my kids did not know the song. How they've avoided it and I know about it is strange. Guess I'm still hip to the music. :D

Still think "Pumped Up Kicks" is the song of the summer.

I'm with you, John. I bought tickets to hear them play in Atlanta and I'll bet I'm the oldest person there. While you're at it, dig around for the Best Buy exclusive tracks. They're as good as anything else on the album.

It is climbing the charts the old-fashioned way, jumping to #73 on the Billboard Hot 100.

dammit! i just bought the JAP edition w/5 bonus tracks.
all of the ones listed on the AUS tour edition,
MINUS "helena beat" and "call it what you want" remixes.
now i'm going to have to get the AUS version and sell my japanese one.

btw, i was shocked at how well i've enjoyed this disc.
brilliantly pop w/ample innovation and imagination to keep my mind engaged.

please check-out the price at chaos.com.
only $13.56 US (after the tax discount) + plus about 5-8 bucks shipping to the USA.
i wish this vendor had as much inventory as they used to,
but still a great place to buy once in a while.
