Product Description
Foreigner took hard rock and gave it a radio-friendly sheen, bringing the music into the Eighties with chart-topping effect. The songs of Mick Jones, delivered by gravel-voiced Lou Gramm, conquered the States and eventually Jones’ home country of Britain when ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ topped the charts in 1985. This package features the hits from ‘Feels Like The First Time’ to ‘Urgent’ and beyond.

This 2CD collection features highlights from across 5 hit albums including the Top 5 album ‘4’ and the chart topping 1984 smash ‘Agent Provocateur’. Foreigner have had no fewer than five Top 5 US albums and worldwide album sales currently stand at 50 million units.

This is the first 2CD mid price Foreigner compilation available in the market.

Hey, it's only been, like, 5 minutes since the last one!

I like their first 3 albums and their hits after that. About 6 months ago I found the No End In Sight best of at Wal Mart for $9.99 so I picked that up. Its an excellent 2cd best of at a great price. A few days ago I was in Wal Mart and they had the first 3 remastered cd's for 5 bucks each. I'll have to get them on my next trip there.

No End In Sight is a great comp-outstanding and for $9.99 well worthwhile. This comp is for the overseas market and is probably an edited version of the same-named US comp from 2000.

The US Jukebox Heroes (above) helpfully appends Lou Gramm's two Top Ten solo singles.

I have 5 or 6 different Foreigner comps in the Archives. Think I can pass on this one.

I have to disagree with this one with regard to the first four albums.

:ohyes: I'd go as far as to say their 1st 2 LPs were the best and they never produced anything as good from then on.

The first album was great but after that the albums get spotty other than the big hits. They were all about the hit than the album.

I'm with ya DanO-there are so many great album tracks on the first 4 albums there's no way they were just a hits band. Songs like "Starrider", "Headknocker", "At War With The World", "Lonely Children", "Rev On The Red Line", "Night Life", "Tramontane", "Fool For You Anyway", "Woman In Black"-I could go on.
To dismiss them as a singles band is just not being aware of their output. I mean-c'mon, their first 4 albums combined have sold over 23 million copies in the US! If it was just the hits, that would not be the case.
I also think there are great album tracks all the way through their career, but as a whole things started to get spotty starting with Agent Provocateur.

Okay, this is the second redundant compilation in recent memory that Jimbo has elected to pass on.

I'm worried. :ohno:

While I feel the first album is a true classic through and through (I have it on DVDA). It is the only Foreigner album I play through during a sitting or on the IPOD.

The next one Double Vision had alot of filler except for the hits Double Vision/ Hot Blooded/ and Blue Morning Blue Day. Because of those strong songs, its sold 7X platinum yet remains an album I never listen to through.

The next one is even weaker yet has a few good ones mainly the great Dirty White Boy (what a riff!!!!) and of course Head Games (always loved that one). The other songs Iike are Love On The Telephone and The Modern Day ( a non-hit but a great little tune with a solid riff). This one sold 5X platinum.

The fourth album 4, has the biggest hits since the first album in massive sellers like Urgent and Waiting For A Girl Like You. An AOR rock hit was Juke Box Hero. This is the album that really broke through to all fans of rock.
Once again these hits sold this album at 6X platinum and remains their only #1 album in the US.

But I find the whole album experience weak other than the hits.

So Foreigner is one band I'd rather pull out my Anthology than go thru the albums.

Though I never bought it, I would recommend Jukebox Heroes as a good two-disc best of. It covered the classic era, had some pre-Foreigner and Gramm/Jones solo tracks and was a good epitaph for the Gramm era.

I would add Agent Provocateur...good stuff on there and the last great album with Gramm.
