A nice, but strange (and official) comp touching every era of Ronnie's career (aside from the obscure singles in the 60's). But whoever put this together added strange choices and omitted must haves like "The Last In Line", "Hungry For Heaven" and "Don't Talk To Strangers" to mention a few from Dio, and the Sabbath and Rainbow choices are a little off as well ("Run With The Wolf" and "Country Girl"? Really?).
Anyway, it's a nice comp nonetheless and I'm sure it won't be the last.

No Ronnie And The Red Caps??

I really wish someone would go all the way back with the Ronnie Dio, Ronnie & The Redcaps, The Electric Elves & The Elves recordings. I only have them on CD via scratchy Vinyl.

Kind of off track I guess but - has the "deluxe edition" for Holy Diver been announced yet?

A few years back, a newly remastered version of Holy Diver was released in the UK. No extra tracks, but it sounds great and the balance of the disc is filled with an audio interview with RJD about the making of the album.

Universal is working on a new "Deluxe Edition" though - I think it is coming out this year but I hadn't heard when. I can't keep track of all this stuff (I was taken by surprise by the three new Thin Lizzy CDs announcement - I knew they were all in the works too but didn't know the timing of when then - blam! Here they are)...

Considering the recent release of the 1983/1987 live disc, this deluxe version will have to have some really special extras for me to even consider buying Holy Diver again.

Keep in mind, this is coming from the same guy who swore he wasn't going to buy the Dio/Sabbath deluxe editions last year and eventually....

Too funny - that was me too. I eventually broke down and bought them though. I'd like to get the new Holy Diver D.E. since all I have is the original on CD, although with some recent D.E. disappointments I'll wait until I hear some buyer comments on the worthiness of it.

Oh I'll get a deluxe Holy Diver for sure. The Rock Candy/Universal remaster sounds great but the interview is 100% worthless. I assume they did not get access to the vaults.
One would hope that at the very least the first 4 albums get the deluxe treatment, and maybe the full-length Intermission as well? (Warner Bros. refused to release a double-album of live Dio in 1986 so the best they could get was a mini-LP thus the sarcastic title).
