The second disc will likely be concert recordings; recordings that Tony Iommi had been reluctant to release in the past.

Can't wait to get my hands on this. As Phil suggested, disc two will probably be live recordings although I would prefer a complete remix + The Fallen. Best-case scenario would have been a multi-disc set with the original mix remastered (disc 1), complete remix + The Fallen (disc 2), concert recordings (disc 3) plus a DVD with the promo videos, concert footage and interviews with band members regarding the albums (Gillen has always been a riot when discussing this album). And oh yeah, there would be no reason to include a vinyl copy in a set like this!

We don't yet what it will be. Iommi was reluctant to release ANYTHING in the past. Also, the band was involved in the mix of the infamous Worcester show back in 1983. It may be the demo version + "The Fallen" or live tracks (As I suggested wayyyy back the Worcester, MA Nov. 1983 FM broadcast) or the plethora of other recordings that took place that have never been released, and trust me it's more than "The Fallen".
Also, the album itself is to be remixed with Iommi's heavy involvement and it is possible the original mix remastered would be Disc One and the new mix would be Disc 2.
Please let's not do the doom and gloom thing on this one-whatever happens is going to be fun.

I'm a happy man now. I love Born Again . I would love to see Gillan , Iommi , Butler and Ward record together again . It will never happen but it would be nice.

Would you settle for Iommi, Gillan, Jason Newsted, Linde Linstrom, Nicko McBrain...and some guy named Jon Lord?

From earMUSIC:

What hides behind this new band name is in fact the renewed musical union between legendary Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan, with none other than Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi: the undisputed master of heavy guitar riffs.

The duo has recorded two brand new songs with the intent to support the rebuilding of a music school in Gyumri, Armenia. Both Gillan and Iommi have spent a lot of time in Armenia, fallen in love with the country and the people and have dedicated a lot of work to a nation still shocked after the earthquake that struck Armenia on December 7, 1988 at 11:41am.

The collaboration of Gillan and Iommi, who have worked together before on the Sabbath album "Born Again", is in itself an incredible news for all rock and metal fans and will be the best of surprises to get to know who is completing the band:None other than Jon Lord on keyboard ("Mr. Hammond", partner with Gillan on all the Deep Purple classics), Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain, ex Metallica bass player Jason Newsted and HIM guitar player Linde Lindström are also featured on the two new songs.

WhoCares will release the 2 new songs on digital download and limited edition CD single on May 6th 2011: 'Out of My Mind' (and epic hard rock classic, destined to remain in time as a hard rock milestone) and 'Holy Water'. The CD single will also contain the video clip of 'Out Of My Mind' and a 40-minute documentary that shows Gillan's and Iommi's involvement with the Armenia cause over the years.

There is no doubt that this is the most impressive rock ensemble ever to release new material in 2011.

Ian Gillan said: "The idea came as Tony and I flew back from Yerevan together after being inspired by the enthusiasm of everyone there to get this thing done. It was brilliant working with Tony again after all these years; he makes life easy for a singer. The other guys need no introduction do they..."

Tony Iommi added:"Some twenty years ago when the call came, I thought, well at least I've helped, but it was going to Armenia and seeing the actual devastation caused by the earthquake that really made me realise that funds were still needed. Despite all the money that was raised last time, here was a music school doing their best, forgotten, in basic tin sheds. After the warmth and honour bestowed upon us during our visit, we just had to help make a difference and get the school re-built. And what better way than to hook up with some of rock's greatest players and my old mate Ian, both an honour and a pleasure.

Yeah, I read about this last week and forgot to mention it. It's OK-I'll have to listen to it again and now I can! I just cannot wait for Born Again to be, er, born again!

Wow! Just got the track listing-which may change, you never know this early in the game. It would seem that what I mentioned about "The Fallen" and the live tracks was on the money, but also the b-side version of "Stonehenge" (much longer-around 5 minutes if I recall) is included-very nice as I've never heard it. Seems it's just "The Fallen" from the demos, but perhaps a finished version? All the other tracks would seem to be live from the Worcester show, although again, like the Seventh Star show it is incomplete. Missing songs that I can recall would be "Born Again", "Heaven And Hell" and "Children Of The Grave". On that tour as well they played "Supernaut" (w/ Bev bevan drum solo), "Rock And Roll Doctor" and "Neon Knights". So tragic we don't get any of that, but I won't moan too much here.
Let's hope they use the proper sources for that and not a lesser copy.
One would assume the remaster and perhaps remix of the album is Disc 1. We shall see and I will of course keep everyone posted!
P.S.
Check above for the track listing.

This album really deserves a good remaster of the original mix plus a complete remix. I have a bootleg with the extended version of Stonehedge and it runs 4:54...I've never heard the version that's the flip side of the Trashed single but the running time of that one is listed at 4:52 so it's probably the same version. For those that haven't heard it and are anticipating that the extra three minutes has something significantly different than the final album version...it doesn't...it's just three additional minutes of keyboards with Geezer throwing in the occasional note on bass. The Fallen was so obviously going to be on this release that it's no suprise to see it included. I'm very happy that a live version of Smoke on the Water found it's way on here, another one that would seem obvious to include but with the potential royalty issues it wouldn't have been that shocking to see it omitted.

Still definitely looking forward to this...a no-brainer purchase for me.

The Worcester '83 setlist is

Children of the Grave
Hot Line
War Pigs
Iron Man
The Dark / Zero the Hero
Heaven and Hell
Guitar Solo
Digital Bitch
Black Sabbath
Smoke on the Water
Paranoid

I believe Neon Knights, Supernaut & Rock And Roll Doctor were only played in 1984. Born Again was only played at the start of the tour.

I saw the tour in Philly in Nov. 1983 and All of these aside from Neon Knights were played.

There's word the live tracks may be from the Reading Festival in Aug. 1983.

My mistake. They were also played at Reading (as was Born Again).

Is this going to be that remix that's been rumoured for months or just a remastering of the standard album mix?

FINALLY!!!! I'm very much looking forward to this release. They should have dropped the extended version of Stonehenge, and add more live material. BUT, I'll still take what's coming our way.

So, it's basically what I mentioned earlier and I'm fine with that. We'll see what remastering or remixing was done soon.
Anyway, here's a bit more, but basically the same from antimusic.com:

Black Sabbath’s “Born Again” is born again on May 30.

Sabbath’s 1983 album gets the deluxe reissue treatment in a new 2-disc package.

“Born Again” was the only Sabbath album to feature vocalist Ian Gillan — who was, at the time, a solo artist and former singer for Deep Purple.

Gillan had first turned down the offer to join Sabbath but his manager later convinced him to have a meeting with guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler. The two Sabs met with Gillan at The Bear public house in Oxford, and Gillan officially joined the band in February 1983.

Released in October 1983, “Born Again” was a commercial success. It was the highest-charting Sabbath album in the United Kingdom since 1973’s “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath,” and became an American Top 40 hit. Despite this, it became the first Sabbath release to not have any RIAA certification (gold or platinum) in the U.S.

Black Sabbath
“Born Again”
Release date: May 30 (UK) May 31 (international)

Disc 1:

01. Trashed
02. Stonehenge
03. Disturbing The Priest
04. The Dark
05. Zero The Hero
06. Digital Bitch
07. Born Again
08. Hot Line
09. Keep It Warm

Disc 2:

01. The Fallen
02. Stonehenge
03. Hot Line
04. War Pigs
05. Black Sabbath
06. The Dark
07. Zero The Hero
08. Digital Bitch
09. Iron Man
10. Smoke On The Water
11. Paranoid

From BWABK.com:

As previously reported, Sanctuary/Universal UK has confirmed a May 30th street date for the long-awaited Deluxe Expanded Edition reissue of BLACK SABBATH's under-rated classic Born Again featuring singer Ian Gillan (DEEP PURPLE) on vocals. The official press release can be viewed below.

Joe Siegler from Black-sabbath.com has provided some more insight into this vital reissue:

"It's been heavily rumored for some time now that Born Again was getting a little extra treatment. In the Universal Deluxe Edition series, they went from Heaven & Hell/Mob Rules/Live Evil to the release batch that had Seventh Star & Eternal Idol (November 2010). Then in February 2011, they did Dehumanizer. Born Again got skipped over. I was told earlier in 2010 that Born Again was going to be skipped (even before it's turn in the original release order came up), because they were doing some extra work on it, hence the extra time, or 'delay'. I later came to believe from a couple of sources that it was because it was finally getting the legendary 'proper mix'. You've all heard the stories about Ian Gillan's hearing the final mix and throwing up. Well, the rumors go that the 2011 release of the album would do away with Mr. Gillan's propensity for vomiting in regards to the final mix.

When the news broke of what is going to be on the Born Again 2 CD Deluxe Edition a couple of days ago, I decided to look into the status of the original album's representation in the package. Much to the disappointment of several people, I was told that the album was not remixed - it was just remastered. When I inquired why, I was told that they couldn't find the original multi-track master tapes that would be needed to do a remix. This was the primary reason for the delay, that they kept trying to track down the multi-tracks to do a remix, but could not.

They couldn't delay the release indefinitely, so instead, they opted for a completely new remaster. The only other time the album was remastered was in 1996 for the Castle Remaster series.

It's disappointing yes, but all is not lost.

Tony Iommi's manager did go on to say this: 'The tapes have been held by a number of labels - Vertigo, Castle, Sanctuary, Universal, and moved around, which is why we still have hopes that they have simply been separated.'

They haven't completely given up hope on the "proper remix" project, which is good news.

Personally, I am very excited by this release and have already put my pre-order thru. Of course, it could be better as far as bonus material, but it'll be great to have.
