 Quote: Marvel Comics announced today via the New York Daily News and a press release that Steve Rogers will return to the role of Captain America in the comic of the same name this July. Ed Brubaker will continue the series he has been writing since November 2004, and will be joined by Civil War artist Steve McNiven. The move comes intentionally timed to the July 22, 2011 release of Captain America: The First Avenger, the next in a series of blockbuster films set in Marvel's new movie universe, which also features Iron Man and Thor. http://www.newsarama.com/comics/captain ... 10404.html

Looks amazing...the last year or so of Bru's Cap has been excellent and I am pumped for this as well.
Brubaker is teasing that there are more announcements to come tomorrow.

I've loved Bucky as Cap and Steve Rogers as the head of SHIELD, but I can see where it wouldn't have made sense to have him out of the uniform when the movie launches. Honestly, both these books are a good idea, in theory, for the potential new readers checking out the comics when the film comes out (assuming they publicize them for the general public in some way).

Hmm...i don't read it that way..to me the Cap/Bucky title with issue 620 tells stories set in WW2 but they are in continuity and will affect the main title. I guess we'll see..either way sounds fun.

I loved the first arc by Brubaker and Samnee. The book is now becoming a Captain America team-up title, with Hawkeye up next for 4 issues, written by Cullen Bunn and drawn by Alessandro Vitti. Could be fun.

I like Brubaker's writing for the most part. But when he is teamed up wit ha great artist like Epting, it is far more enjoyable.
