But I skipped Black Dossier based on all the bad press, and whatever that other one was (1912?). Does anyone think I can get by?
You'd probably want to get 1910. It's part of a loose trilogy with 1969, the planned third part being (I believe) 2010.
Actually, that said, you could probably start with 1969, and then if you like that, go back and pick up 1910.
The comics have gotten more and more modular since Volume 2, where they just jump around in time and they all refrence each other but you can kind of read them in any order.

But it's so richly rewarding that Jay should get them all.

And most of us would be probably dead by the time of it's release.
Yeah, they're a bit behind. I wonder if they'll change the title of the third one to match the year of release? Of keep it as "2010" to maintain the "Century" thing.

I agree, but I know better than to go too far with my recommendations to Jay. I already pushed it by responding to his question at all.

I like O'Neill's art about as much as I like Moore's writing. To me the combination sounds almost like the Anti-Life Equation.
