Of course there were; I've a solid list of films I considered but had to trim in order to meet the 32-film limit. In order to have a tournament-style showdown, the next step up from 32 contenders has to be 64 contenders. Not only would that serve to water down the competition to some degree, managing all that would have been a royal pain in the rear. I'd be working these things for months rather than weeks. No way! Thirty-two contenders is a heavy load but managable. It means some good films left out, but it also means I don't get bored and frustrated with managing this thing for the next four months. Fair tradeoff, in my opinion.

My fault for throwing Jaws out there every time the matchups held less interest for me.

But really...what kind of film critic leaves Jaws off the list? ;)
