Anybody know of a good restaurant in Philadelphia near the Pennsylvania Convention Center? A bunch of us at work are heading there next week for a trade show, and we're looking for a good place to eat.

Nothing fancy, just some good food.

There are two Vietnamese places around the corner from the CC. Both are good. Also a Chinese place - tiny but good. Stephen Strange and I ate there. It had a name like werewolves of London. "How Lee" or something?

Also, the Reading Terminal Market is across the street. Lots of prepared food and fresh food and small sit down places.

Go to Pat's King of Steaks and Geno's Steaks on the corner of 9th Street and Passyunk Avenue and see which one has the best Philly Cheesesteak sandwich (they're across the street from each other). On Food Feuds, Michael Symon said that Pat's won out, but I thought Geno's looked tastier and am determined some day to do the comparison myself.

I saw that episode. Although I don't remember which place was which, I know I'd go for the one that uses Provolone cheese (Geno's?) instead of Cheese Whiz.

I've also gathered addresses for the Philly places that have been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives, my favorite FN show, as considerations. The Memphis Taproom was featured last night, that one's a strong possibility.

This place was awesome. Ate lunch there today before heading home. There were seven of us, I don't think any of us ate at the same place. (I had a Gyro from the Olympic. )

We almost ended up at the one Junkie mentioned, The Marathon Grill, because it was close to the hotel, but we chatted up the really cute young lady at the check in counter, and she recommended Moriarty's Pub, and gave as a bunch of free beer coupons for the place. Two of the guys had the Corn Beef and Cabbage and said it was the best they ever ate. I love a good burger, so I had the Onion Burger and Spanish Fries. Very tasty.

Finished up the night at the oldest pub in the city, McGillins Old Ale House. It looks like they literally built the city around the place. Managed to rack up a $225.00 bar tab in about two hours. (Thankfully the hotel was only 2 blocks away.)

It all sounds yummy and delicious! I need a day or two in Philly!

It was a nice place to finish getting liquored up! The place was packed.

I was at the Wizard show there last year on sunday afternoon, and got out of town without having a bite of food anywhere. I kind of regret that.

Being from the Pittsburgh area, we always thought that was bullshit. Eagle and Flier fans give the city a bad rep.
