Titin is the largest protein yet discovered. It's full chemical name is 189,819 letters long and, depending on how you define a "word", is the longest word in the English language. Here is a sample read aloud.
It is not, as I had intended it, the full word. This is because when I converted the text to speech, it was 2 hours 8 minutes even when I quadrupled the speed. So I have cut out the 2 hours to give you an idea of what it would sound like. Similarly, the text of the screen isn't the full text, because that became a 1 hour and 38 minute video and only the most stoned of geeks could watch it in full. So think of this as a nice visual.
