They are all Aquaman to me, but if I had to pick, I'd go with the only one that I could remember: the one from the Timmverse.

There is no love for Smallville? Also, I tend to associate the Superfriends theme solely with Superman.

The Ruby Spears one doesn't count, since it uses great swaths of the Williams score in it. So I'll go with the Timm/Dini show.

The Filmation one. It's not that great, but nostalgia puts it over the top for me.

I went with the Fleischer one, as I hum that one all the time.

If I were to direct a Superman film, I'd use all the major ones at various parts of the film -- modified, of course, so they seem like they belong to part of the same soundtrack, natch.

Also, I'd end the film with an acoustic version of Foo Fighters' "Hero" and a montage of all the various live-action and animated Superman stuff, just to impress the audience with the long, rich history Superman has in pop culture and to pay tribute to all those actors. Then, at the end, we dedicate it to Siegel and Shuster.

Adventures.

Was there a radio intro prior to that?

Does any one know where faster than a speeding bullet originated?

I don't know if radio used "Faster than a speeding bullet" but the Fleischers used it, so it goes back to at least that.

I think radio; I listened to a little of a radio show when I made this poll, but it didn't seem to feature any theme music.

Yeah, it was used in radio, but it appeared in the Fleischer cartoons first.

I tried doing some research. Seems "Look up in the Sky, Its a bird etc" was originally Radio "Faster than a speeding bullet" was Fleischer.

Yes, that's correct. The radio serials originally had it worded differently. Something like "able to stop bullets" or similar.

I guess the Timmverse one is best but they are mostly so derivative of Williams' score. I am really curious what the Superman Theme in the upcoming reboot will be like, the composer has some big shoes to fill.

Sadly, without the Tim Burton Superman making it into production, the world will never enjoy a Danny Elfman Superman theme.

For nostalgia's sake, the 50s "Adventures of Superman" theme. I also like that "Smallville" did something so different than what had gone before.

Can't believe you forgot these, which I also think should be options:

Not really featured as a theme in any Superman movie or show -- however, were I to pick a pop song, I'd go with REM's Superman.

I'd go with Robyn Hitchcock's "Superman".

Superman, Superman
Crunchy little Superman
Found you in a cornflakes box
Nourished you in privacy
Touched the places you can't reach
You improved immediately...

50s Adventures of Superman for me. It's so iconic.

George Reeves' show, absolutely.

For movies, I thought the best Superman theme, the first time I heard it, was playing during the opening credits of Star Trek, The Motion Picture.
