Ac/Dc frontman Brian Johnson revealed in a new interview (see video below) with OversteetTV.net that the band's new live album, and accompanying concert video, will be released "in about six weeks." The set is expected to contain footage of Ac/Dc's three sold-out shows at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires on December 2, December 3 and December 6, 2009 (65,000 capacity each).

"We've got a new live album which we shot in Argentina at the end of the last tour, which was about September," Johnson said during the interview. "There was 300,000 people there, and it was just wonderful. We had about 12 cameras there and a great sound crew, and we just enjoyed the heck out of it.

"The live album comes out, with the video of those concerts, in about six weeks or something. So I'm looking forward to that."

He added, "After that, we haven't made any plans; we just wanted to have a rest, 'cause we were on the road for two years. We played in front of five million people. and we deserve a rest, I think. We're pretty pooped. I know that sounds horrible to people that work hard, but believe me, it is hard work."

Footage from Ac/Dc's Buenos Aires concerts was previously used in the video for the band's classic album cut "Shoot To Thrill", which served as the first single from Ac/Dc's "Iron Man 2" soundtrack (featuring catalog material from the mid-1970s onwards). The video also incorporated exclusive footage from "Iron Man 2".

The Buenos Aires concerts were part of Ac/Dc's highly acclaimed "Black Ice World Tour", the second-highest-grossing world tour of 2009, according to concert industry trade publication Pollstar.

Ac/Dc's setlist for the Buenos Aires concerts was as follows:

01. Rock N' Roll Train
02. Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be
03. Back in Black
04. Big Jack
05. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
06. Shot Down In Flames
07. Thunderstruck
08. Black Ice
09. The Jack
10. Hells Bells
11. Shoot To Thrill
12. War Machine
13. Dog Eat Dog
14. You Shook Me All Night Long
15. T.N.T.
16. Whole Lotta Rosie
17. Let There Be Rock

Encore:

18. Highway To Hell
19. For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)

A live album is okay, I guess, but what AC/DC really needs is a proper compilation album.

Or two.

Maybe one for Bon and one for Brian, so that everything's covered fairly.

The closest thing we have are the Iron Man soundtrack albums and Who Made Who.

I've been waiting for this (both CD & DVD) since the tour started. Loved the show!

Columbia Records have officially released the tracklisting details for the forthcoming AC/DC live CD/DVD. Here you go: AC/DC Live At River Plate, a definitive live concert DVD documenting AC/DC's massive Black Ice World Tour, will be available for purchase on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
Shot in December of 2009, AC/DC Live At River Plate marks AC/DC's triumphant return to Buenos Aires where nearly 200,000 fans, and 3 sold-out shows, welcomed the band back after a 13 year absence from Argentina.

This stunning live footage of AC/DC underscores what Argentina's Pagina 12 newspaper reported by saying "no one is on the same level when it comes to pure and clear Rock 'n Roll." Directed by David Mallet and produced by Rocky Oldham, AC/DC Live At River Plate was shot with 32 cameras entirely in HD. AC/DC Live At River Plate features 19 songs (110 minutes) as well as 'behind the scenes' footage of this massive production coming together among the excitement of anxious fans (see below for full track listing).

AC/DC Live At River Plate will be available on DVD, Blu-Ray and Ltd Edition collector's edition with exclusive t-shirt. Additionally the DVD contains a bonus feature titled "The Fan, The Roadie, The Guitar Tech & The Meat," features interviews with AC/DC, their crew and fans among the excitement of the shows and the city of Buenos Aires.

AC/DC Live At River Plate track listing is as follows:
Rock N Roll Train
Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be
Back In Black
Big Jack
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Shot Down In Flames
Thunderstruck
Black Ice
The Jack
Hells Bells
Shoot To Thrill
War Machine
Dog Eat Dog
You Shook Me All Night Long
T.N.T.
Whole Lotta Rosie
Let There Be Rock
Highway To Hell
For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)

I hope this becomes available as a CD, but I can only find mention of the DVD and Blu-Ray so far.

AC/DC are following up one of the more successful live albums of all time with a 19-track recording from three shows in Buenos Aires. ‘Live at River Plate’ (available Nov. 20) is the band’s first new live effort since the double disc ‘Live’ from 1992.

The audio recording is from the same shows as the ‘Live at River Plate’ DVD, which was released in 2011. The three shows took place in Argentina in December 2009, in front of almost 200K fans over three nights. By then the Black Ice tour was in top form, going on to visit 108 cities across the world.

The new live recording includes seven songs not included on ‘Live.’ ‘Rock N Roll Train,’ ‘Shot Down in Flames,’ ‘Black Ice’ and ‘Dog Eat Dog’ are four of the new tunes that accompany hits like ‘Back in Black’ and ‘Hells Bells.’ The project is available as a three disc vinyl package or a two CD set that features multiple covers and a 24-page booklet.
