I predict exploding heads.
Including mine. These are two of the biggest movies in my life, both that I've watched tirelessly since I was young.

Dr. Jones for me.
Raiders is the quintessential action adventure movie, and for me, likely my choice for Favorite Film of All Time.
But yeah, I can see where you're about to cause some major riots President Taft.
Hope the Secret Squirrels have you well covered...

This goes beyond my ability to hate you, Eric. I am going to have to kill you. Later today, after I've done nothing else but think of this, I'll decide.

The Imperial March trumps the Indy Theme Song.
So, Empire.

Raiders. As a stand alone movie, it is the better of these two films that totally rocked my adolescence. For me, Star Wars (at the least TESB and ROTJ) works better as a package and not necessarily on their own per se. That said, if I had to vote between "A New Hope" and Raiders, I might have issues.

While I still maintain Empire does not stand on its own, its simply cooler than Raiders by unimaginable measure. Raiders is a great flick, but Empire cemented a saga and has the greatest twist in film history.

You're a bad man Mr. St. John, and one day you'll pay for this. Making me choose between Empire and Raiders is just WRONG! That being said, I'm going to go with Empire. I'll get you for this!

I went with Raiders for 3 reasons:
1) Indy shoots guy with sword
2) Big bald Nazi meets the Wright Brothers
3) Melty faces!
(Although the Imperial March is the greatest piece of orchestral music, ever)

I feel like Sir Robin facing the Keeper of the Bridge of Death.
"What is your name? What is your quest? What is the better movie, Empire or Raiders?"
"Wh--? I don't know that! AUUGGGGGGH!"
Raiders, for one simple reason....you don't have to watch another movie to get a conclusion to the story.

Empire. But voting in this one was painful to me. They both are great.

I'm going to go with Empire because of childhood bliss. When I was a kid, Empire was THE movie I wanted to see, while Raiders was barely on my radar. I remember being pissed off when Raiders came out because they pulled Empire from the theater to start running Raiders. This was back in the days when movies ran for AGES, and I wanted to see it one last time before it left theaters. I was denied because of Raiders. It was only a couple of years later that I finally saw it, and I loved it. Still, nothing beats Empire to my inner child.

Raiders is Cotton Candy.
Empire is about something...Committment, loyalty, self-sacrifice all to combat unspeakable evil.

Ugh. I hate having to make this decision.
Star Wars gave me a love for the franchise, but Empire sealed the deal. Even now, with a bunch of Star Wars crap I don't care about, Empire can remind me of everything I love about the universe Lucas created. The Hoth battle still thrills me, and I insist that the lightsaber duel remains the best. This one had pathos and love and drama and all sorts of great stuff.
Raiders is Raiders, a pitch-perfect action film with a charismatic, iconic lead, fantastic set pieces, thrilling action sequences, and Nazis. It sparked a cool franchise and inspired me to wear cool hats. Also, it had melting faces, snakes and Nazis.
I think I'm leaning Raiders, but voting against Empire makes me cry.

Voting against either makes me cry, which is why my vote wasn't against Raiders, but FOR Empire. You know, sort of like the opposite of the '04 election, when my vote wasn't so much for Kerry as it was against Bush (lot of good that did me).

Raiders
Star Wars is my favorite, so that makes this one just a little easier for me, that and the Yoda section kinda drags a bit for me, where nothing in Raiders drags at all!

In opinion, but not in fact.
Since it is in fact a silly, unnecessarily serious lessening of the original by bringing the silly 'force' McGuffin from the first film centre stage and attempting to turn the whole thing into more than what it was thereby achieving the opposite effect and diminishing the grandeur and fun of the first film...
Guess what I voted
