I always wanted to relive SuperBowl XX. I was 11 when the Bears and Pats went at it before, and I was at that perfect age...graduating from toy robots and comics to sports. All that promotion just hit me square in the face. It was great.

The one thing about that Super Bowl, I so wish they'd let Sweetness score instead of giving the ball to the Fridge. What an amazing team the 85 Bears were, especially defensively.

I was all about the Fridge that year. He's from not too far from here, and was a sensation at Clemson (the nearest big time sports university to here) so the people in this area were amazed to see him take off as a national sensation.

If you had asked this question to somebody immediately after Super Bowl XX, what answer do you think you would get?

"One of these teams is going to come back to the Super Bowl four more times and win three of them. The other team will not be coming back in more than 20 years, and will have to wait that long to at least win a playoff game at home. Which teams do you think they are?"

Still, even though they never returned to the Super Bowl, a very good case can be made that the '85 Bears were the greatest team to ever win the Super Bowl...

it's weird. back in '85, it was a foregone conclusion around week number 8 that the Bears would at least be in the Super bowl and not too long after that they'd probably win it. This year, they'll have to get lucky, Grossman will have to rise to the occassion as will the defense. Mind you, I haven't paid much attention to the Bears ever since McMahon left. I wish them well but I don't know if I'd watch the big game even if they were in it.

I was 8. We sange the Super Bowl Shuffle in music class. I still have the lyric page, with the word shit blacked out.

Not to mention, the Saints have got that whole "America's Team/Cinderella Story" thing going. I know nothing matters but what happens on the field, but that kind of sensation does tend to have an impact on the opposing team.
