I've been enjoying the title track of the new Tennis album, and picked up the cd this week. It does remind me a lot of Best Coast with the sugary vocals & summery music. Though the slight melancholy in the melodies and the subdued vocals set it apart from Best Coast and most of the other similar groups. Didn't grow in me as immediate as the "Cape Dory" song. Butt there are some killer hooks, and the vocals do become addictive with time.

I couldn't help but think the album reminded me of an old Lisa Hartman album. I searched to find a picture of it, and lo and behold, someone else had already picked up on it! http://coverscovered.blogspot.com/2011/ ... ennis.html
