I thought the concept behind the new Brave and the Bold was that each
issue would contain the second star from the previous issue.
#1 is Batman & Green Lantern
#2 is Green Lantern & Supergirl
#3 is Batman & Blue Beetle?? Against the Fatal Five???

THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #3

Written by Mark Waid, art by George Perez and Bob Wiacek, cover by Perez.

book to end all team-up books! Who's brought these Legion villains

Those encyclopedias are dull, dull, dull. I've paged through the WW, Superman, and Batman one (they are all at my local library), but are not entertaining in the least.
Really looking forward to the Brave and the Bold series though! I'd imagine that Batman left GL to do something connected elsewhere, but not part of the following issue, which continued with GL. Now, in issue 3, we're catching up with where Batman is. Or rather, "was", since the Fatal Five would paste him to nothingness in less than a minute.

Ummmm... blech?

BATMAN #665
Written by Grant Morrison
Art by Andy Kubert & Jesse Delperdang
Cover by Andy Kubert
The “Three Ghosts of Batman” continues as Batman tries to discover the mysterious contents of Casebook X! <--- OOooOOoohhh.

This issue takes us back to Batman's early days and reveals the truth about his final confrontation with Joe Chill, the man who murdered his parents. <--- Of course.

It also ties in to 52, as we learn what really happened to Batman inside the cave in Nanda Parbat when he underwent a seven-day Buddhist isolation ritual to purge his negative karma. <--- Insert joke here.

OK, why? WHY? No other good stories to tell? Uh huh. Well, we'll see I guess, depends on how this goes. I may be on my way out of new comics. Even the stuff that grabbed me right out of OYL is losing me. Probably dropping the Johns/Donner Action comics soon, for one. If I keep dropping a title here, a title there, soon enough it won't be worth my while to go to the shop every week, and I'll lose the habit.

More like a family tree. First two in the arc each get another partner later, so that GL and Batman got their new partners. I'm not sure who does #4 or #5, but #6 is supposed to bring it back around, maybe with all the heroes that were in the previous 5 issues.

I don't recognize the two characters in the middle of that shot of the upcoming action figures. I mean, obviously, the third one is a Batman of some kind, but I don't recognize the armor. Anyone know where it's from? Or who the person with the shield is?

I can't wait for the Waid/Perez B&tB!

Frank, Green Lantern and Batman from Alex Ross' Justice maxi series. The armour appeared in the latest issue (not sure... #8?).

They're from the latest issue of JUSTICE. The Leaguers have to armor up in order to face off against the villains without getting re-infected by Brainiac's nanites. The other armored character is Green Lantern.

Frank, they're armored up versions of Batman and Green Lantern. They showed up in the latest issue of Justice.

I looked through the Newsarama DC listings, and the CBR DC listings, and I found no reference to new issues of Action or Superman. Did I miss them, or is it accurate that there aren't any (listings, that is)?

Just to be redundant, I think they're supposed to be Batman & Green Lantern from the latest issue of Justice.........oh you mean someone's already posted the answer.

That Brave and Bold cover puts me in that happy place. And I LOVE that Batmanmobile doll. And "Casebook X?" That sounds good to me, it reminds me of the fun goofball names you used to see in comics.
