Quote: Keanu Reeves reveals 3D plans for 'The Matrix 4' and '5'
Keanu Reeves has revealed that plans are underway for two more sequels to The Matrix. The actor, who appears as lead character Neo in the first three movies in the franchise, told Worstpreviews.com that he and the writers of the sci-fi franchise, Andy and Larry Wachowski, have discussed the possibility of shooting the two new sequels in 3D.
It is believed the Wachowskis are seeking 3D filmmaking advice from Avatar creator James Cameron, who with that film helped repopularise the medium.
Reeves said they were keen to deliver something which has "never been seen" and would "truly transform" the action movie genre.
The films won't be coming any time soon. The Wachowskis are looking to complete new movie Cloud Atlas before thinking any more about continuing The Matrix series. http://www.nme.com/movies/news/keanu-re ... and/203507

No thanks. I can't think of a series of films that made me more angry after what was a brilliant (to me) first film.

Damaged forever. And they weren't far off from being good -- if you had given me a summary of the plot points of the 2d and 3rd movie, I would have said "that sounds about right." They should have never shown Zion.

I am actually fond of the latter two Matrix movies, although I admit they are horrible in almost every way. They drag on and on with this oh so pretentious dialogue, the Wachowskis mostly just need a good editor. The latter two Matrix movies really should have been one movie (of about 2:30-3:00 hours) and Speed Racer should have been about an hour shorter. They are just altogether too fond of exposition.

I never thought any of the Matrix films were that mind-blowing -- except for that visual effect in which someone freezes in mid-air and the camera rotates around them.
I mean -- machines using humans as an energy source? Why not nuclear power instead?

I mean -- machines using humans as an energy source? Why not nuclear power instead? The bigger problem with the movies is this, although if you turn off your brain it isn't a problem. If you block all sunlight, you won't necessarily kill off machines, but you WILL kill off all life. No light, no life. It's that simple.

Both sequels should have had 30 minutes shaved off. And yeah, I agree that ZIon should not have been seen. Rave Zion even more so.

The best thing about the series is the Animatrix DVD.

I mean -- machines using humans as an energy source? Why not nuclear power instead? Yeah, that reveal was pretty weak sauce. Up to that point it was a compelling mystery, but the whole "reality is really THIS" was pretty disappointing. I've seen "Terminator," thanks. Pardon? Expectations and hype totally affected my experience of the Matrix movies. I actually preferred the second Matrix just because it wasn't built up so much like the first one was. I expected it to be terrible, and thought it was pretty cool. And I thought the second one had, overall, better acting than the first.

If you block all sunlight, you won't necessarily kill off machines, but you WILL kill off all life. No light, no life. It's that simple. It looked like the machines supplied the food source to all the humans in the Matrix. It also looked like the humans outside the Matrix were sponging of the stuff the machines made. I don't remember anybody eating any fresh fruit or salad outside of the Matrix. It's not that big a stretch.

I'm with Doot on this one. I went to Matrix 2 expecting nothing but awesome CG-based karate fights and got exactly what I came for.

What about the approx. 1 hour of incomprehensible bullshit in between the CG-based karate fights?

About the same as the shitty plot from the first one.
Really, go back and watch the first Matrix again. Now that the fights and visual effects aren't stunning anymore, you're forced to confront the story and acting head on -- and it ain't pretty.
