Just found out that a SHM SACD of KISS's Destroyer was issued in Japan. No details, but I'll assume it's stereo.

All of the SHM-SACDs are stereo only, AND non-hybrid, meaning they only play on SACD players. The Destroyer one sounds good but Kiss was never exactly audiophile quality in the first place, was it?

If it was say, $25, max, I might be tempted to hear a high resolution version of this. But it's way too rich for my blood. I'll stick with my remastered CD, thanks.

Between a jewel case reissue, a price drop and Amazon points, I was able to score this for a very, very reasonable price.

All I can say about this is...WOW.

I'll never play the standard CD on my home system ever again.

P.S.: I remember seeing this a few years ago at Newbury Comics for around $60. While I was very curious, it was too much money for me.

Destroyer was a great production, but a bit thin-sounding on conventional CD. With this SACD, it has depth and punch and the Japanese mastering really brings out the great qualities of Ezrin's production.
