These releases utilize the new remasters, so if someone wants to hear what they will be like, these are available. I will wait until the studio albums come out in March, but I'll be curious for anyone's feedback if they get either of these.

The other option - and in some places they'll be baying to toss you out of membership for even doing it - would be to download the odd track and compare. Don't forget Bob Ludwig did remaster A Night At The Opera in 2005 and that was fine (my 'to go' copy)

Didn't he also do the Greatest Hits that came out as a Best Buy exclusive?

I found this on Wikipedia while reading up on Sheer Heart Attack...I know it was mentioned here about the albums being remastered again, but I didn't know March 2011 was a possible release date.
2011 Re-issue On 8 November 2010, record company Universal Music announced a remastered and expanded version of the album, set for release in March 2011. This was part of a new record deal which meant Queen would leave EMI after 40 years. All Queen albums are to be remastered and reissued in 2011, according to Universal Music

Mark: I think the first 5 albums come out in March. I can't wait for these.

That would be great Pete...when I see the words "remastered and expanded", I get very excited. I'm hoping for some live material because Queen didn't have much as far as B-sides and leftovers.

These have been getting rave reviews on Amazon for their sonic quality and it is Bob Ludwig who did the remastering. I'm actually tempted to get these but I want to wait for the studio albums in March. Supposedly we get great attention to detail and sonics and not any loudness problems. Some are comparing them to the Beatles remasters in terms of audio quality.

If Ludwig's stellar work on the Absolute Greatest compilation is any indication, I am glad the rest of the catalog is getting the same treatment!

To be fair, It was stated that it was just a personal opinion and was just a 'fun' listen on Spotify, a first impression and was not to be taken as a serious 'critique', its not my fault people don't read back posts, but Another One Bites The Dust gave me real earache on headphones and I am a big Motorhead fan so I can take loud music, I personally found it too Bassey, buy it and lets hear your opinion ?

That is so sad that you will buy them judged on someone else not likeing them just because they are a member of SHTV (or will you enjoy them because I thought they had too much bass?), almost as sad as buying them just judged on an opinion on SHTV

I have it streaming here and I don't hear bass bloat over my spare system (Leak stereo 30 amp and Wharfedale Delta 30's off my PCs sound card) with tone controls set to 12 oclock. The bass is extended but was good timing and generally impressive. Maybe different tastes?

Seriously-it was a joke dude. Motorhead rule by the way.

I've gotten tons of great masterings based on opinions posted on the SHTV forums. I give my own opinion on there as well. But I just had to laugh when I saw online streaming being used to critique a CD mastering over there, misunderstood or not. No offense intended.

It was a fun first listen via spotify and I did make that clear (incidently the first time I had used Spotify after unsuccessfully finding another way to hear them) because i was not prepared to go out and buy them because I have those two albums several times over, I also posted some good things I heard like 'Now I'm Here', i was hoping that someone who actually had bought them would post, i just wanted to keep the thread alive and the discussion going in no way did I want my opinion to be the final word and influence people not to buy them etc BTW Invisible Pedestrian you have posted the wrong artwork picture in your first post of Greatest Hits, you may wish to edit it

I do intend to buy a couple of physical CDs to test out (not the Greatest Hits, though), if I can find them at a decent price. If/when I do, I'll post my thoughts.

I've got Greatest Hits II coming to me soon. I bought it mostly for "Innuendo", one of my favorite Queen tracks.
