While the story is shit, IMO, this film does have the best live-action Superman action scenes ever. Worth the price of admission, at least for me.

The use of the John Williams music really helps this movie... but Hanzo is correct in that it has some of the best little Superman effects moments we've seen so far.

My sweetie's sister gave us a copy. I had heard nothing but bad things about it, but it wasn't that bad. No classic of course, but not as bad as Ghost Rider or Fantastic Four either.

Sadly, you do not seem to be alone in this. As with Spider-Man, as with the X-Men, Hollywood has once again gutted the mythology, but self-declared "fans" a eager to race to the theater and reward them for doing so.

And you know what? I'm tired of it. I'm fed up with it. I am sick to death of opening this thread and finding post after post that clearly shows me that I, and those who think like me, have been wasting our time for the past twenty, thirty, forty years, reading superhero comics. None of the lessons we have tried to teach have sunk in. Superman can desert the Earth. Lois can have a bastard kid. Doesn't matter. Just make it fast and loud and shiny.

I liked both of those far more than Superman Returns...and I didn't like the first FF movie very much at all.

i really wish they hadnt muted the suit colours,and the other wee changes they did.Although i suppose theres been loads of variations in the comics through the years

If it makes you happy that's good enough for me, Gerry. I thought it was absolutely boring to watch. I didn't think a Superman movie could bore me, but it did.

i thoroughly enjoyed that.Loads and loads of great moments,John Ottman's score was sensational.They got so much right . . .

Great effects, and the action (what there is of it) is really really nice. Kevin Spacey makes a decent Luthor, but he's a bit too over the top in places. Lois is too young looking, as is Supes, but Routh plays a great Clark. The kid is...well...something that should have never been allowed to happen. And Parker Posey is hot as always.
I own it, and will take it out to watch parts occasionally.

I thought the Blu-ray version was terrible looking....I thought something was wrong with my TV or player. Maybe they've fixed it since.?

The Ponderosa looked faked. I hardly recognized Little Joe.

I caught the last 45 minutes on TV once, I was bored. That may have been me, but the ending seemed to drag along(more than Return of the King).

The two worthwhile moments for me were when Superman saved the plane and his "first night back" sequence.

other cool bits are putting Parker Poseys runaway car on the ground and the final flying sequence when he goes up into the atmosphere

and the flashback with young Clark on the farm

Bullet in eyeball scene. I love the feeling of "holy crap, this guy is powerful."

I don't like that final flying sequence, the CGI Routh looks very fake - like something from Madame Tussaud's.

That was the best.
