I like those old mid-century style signs you see on some motels. The nostalgia factor is pretty high with me...

That looks like a 1970s sign rather than a 1950s one. It reminds me of vacations with my grandparents growing up. After lunch I'll try to find pics of some of the ones I saw in Colorado last summer. They were pretty funky.

I have an affinity for all things sign oriented. My work is also my obsession.

I miss the old Holiday Inn starburst signs with the ridiculous amount of neon tubing.

I wish I could say that I didn't have that figure in the early 70's. I was a hippish child.

I have a bunch of photos on a CD somewhere of the aging signs outside some of Orlando's seediest flophouses--the Arrow Motel, the Melody Motel, and, of course, the DeLuxe Inn.

Nice photo--but I would NOT feel safe spending a night in that place....

Well, me and Scoob are bunking in the Mystery Machine, so you're out of luck.

I'm with you and Scoob on this one. Besides, sometimes I feel like Fred has ulterior motives for dragging me into dark, scary, secluded places....

The guy with the neckerchief? You're safe with him. Worry about the four-eyed bookish chick with the heavy sweater and the Pete Rose haircut.

I suspect that sign has been attracting ribald comments ever since it was first lit.
