Just saw this on DVD...what a great little movie!

I love Mamet's character work and dialogue (not for everyone I know)..i thought there would be more action (the story centers around the mixed martial arts world of fighting tournaments)..but the characters really draw you in...the ending was AMAZING..so much heart...(fans of Rocky and other similar films will enjoy it too).

Anyone else see it?

Yeah, I was expecting a little more, considering I'm a huge Mamet fan, and I think Chiwetel Ejiofor is a fantastic actor. I thought Mamet tried to hard to connect everything like it was one of his heist or con artist films. The best moments, for me, were the beginning and the end, and I thought the middle was saggy and sidetracked by Tim Allen.

I enjoyed the entire movie. One of my favorite Martial Arts movies (easily in the top two).

I'll give it another try.

I lost interest halfway through.

Hanzo did, too. At the very least watch it for the Ed O'neil cameo. :ohyes:

I thought Chiwetel was superb in his role but the story just dragged on and on and I couldn't find any reason to be interested or care about the characters other than that they were stars of the film. I was wondering if I should stick it out, and went onlien to see if the reviews indicate the slow build would yield fruit... the concensus was that the plot becomes more and more ridiculous, so I gave up.
