It says it was remastered at Abbey Road Studios. Will his catalog be next for a full remaster to follow Beatles and Lennon???

McCartney's is up next with the same group that did The Beatles and Lennon. Most of Harrison's catalog has already been remastered (sans a few Capitol albums) in the past decade. But so had Lennon's, although, they were remixed, which gave them an excuse to do it again. It would be nice to have Harrison's multi-label collection standardized in one collection, and to have the missing remasters.

I agree and then there could be a Harrison BOV and... :ohyes:

I hope they return to the original Spector mix with this. I didn't like what George did to it on the CD reissue which, I guess, was ten years ago or so. He took out a lot of the echo and simplified what had been very 'magestic' sounding songs

I'm guessing it will be the original master tape from the 70s. Was there a vinyl release for the 2000 remaster? I believe there was so it makes sense to me for this release to be the original.

Ringo could easily be next in this remastering craze. I just hope they know where to draw the line (both McCartney and Starr). I still think where the original vinyl ends and original CDs begin is pretty much where that line should be drawn. I know some of the early CDs might not be up to par with today's, but I don't care. But that's just me.

I'm not holding my breath for Abbey Road-remastered Ringo CDs, or the Ringo Box of Vision...but I wouldn't turn such projects down, either! Okay, just kidding about the Box of Vision...In a smaller set, perhaps, a collection of Ringo's first few solo albums (say: Sentimental Journey, Beaucoup of Blues, Ringo and Goodnight Vienna) might make for a nice package, not to mention remasters of the remaining Harrison Apple albums (Dark Horse, Extra Texture, maybe even Wonderwall Music and Electronic Sound).

Just a heads up to vinyl fans. Amazon UK is selling this for twenty eight bucks and change US,including shipping. They are very fast (shipment usually arrives in 1 week) and reliable. This is a steal at that price.

Just giving this a bump. The price on this has dropped and is now around $22.43 US. Hope Amazon UK doesn't change the price/catch the mistake, because this is an amazing deal as it stands.

Once you're locked in with an order I think they give you the lowest price. My cost went down to the new low price. Of course they can always cancel the item or run out. I believe it's part of another Record Store Day promotion along with other releases that day. I had a Lennon 45 box from the last RSD on order with Amazon US and it became unavailable just before release.

The article you linked to upthread says that this will be available "exclusively at independent record stores in the US", i.e. another Record Store Day promotion, which would explain why Amazon USA's price is all wrong ... and yes, we might see the listing vanish right before the release date, as has happened before with RSD items listed for pre-order at Amazon USA. But nothing is said in that article about a UK release ... so I'll guess that it will be a general release over there, at a normal price, and that's why the import listed at Amazon UK is such a good deal compared to what we're seeing here in the States.

Amazon UK is now listing this as currently unavailable. My order is still set to ship 11/29. Time will tell.

I'm not surprised. This is just what I described above with the Lennon RSD 45 box (or folder).
However... I have not received an email about this like I did from Amazon US with the RSD Lennon box (or folder).

GeorgeHarrison.com is offering this as a a hi-resolution, audiophile quality digital download (96Khz/24 bit) "mastered at Abbey Road Studios from the original analogue master tapes" for $29.99. They have Wah-Wah as a free download at the moment so you can sample it. It's DRM-free too.

Amazon UK is now listing the item for Dec.7th release, and still at £12.99

I've changed the title of this thread to conform to the UK release. The Amazon USA listing page is still there, but only has third party dealer offers. Amazon UK appears to be the way to go for this one, unless you have access to an American pressing at an indie walk-in (and I can't imagine it would be cheaper than the Amazon UK price anyway).

I just checked my order on Amazon U.K. and it shows my price as £11.06 with £3.08 shipping. I'm wondering where that came from??

Just checked the J&R website and they are listing the Apple USA version of this as in stock and priced at a whopping $54.99!

The prices shown on Amazon UK's listing pages include Value Added Tax (VAT), which is deducted before shipping to the States.
