Had to cancel my Lennon "Double Fantasy Stripped" order after 17 days of waiting and getting a canned email response. I only ordered from these jokers because I just wanted one item at the time and couldn't qualify for Amazon's free shipping. My mistake.

What's the longest anyone's ever waited for DD to get something in (that DID eventually arrive)?
I put in an order of 4 CDs (all "backorder" status) a month ago and I just got a notice that ONE of the items has just shipped. :roll:

Should I ever expect to see the other 3 titles I ordered?

It took months - but I eventually received Deep Purple's LListen Learn Read On" box. I thought it was due to how hard it appeared to locate the set (other retailers did could not fullfill). This was in the last 12-18 months.

I've had dvd's take over a month from them before. I have canceled orders with them, but never had the opposite happen.

*UPDATE*


So...the first of my CDs has arrived... SANS JEWEL CASE. Now, I don't recall checking any option to have my order shipped without a case to save on shipping charges. Because I didn't. Needless to say, I am not impressed. I won't be ordering from DD again.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? I've never had that happen with anything I've ordered form them before.

I've had occasional issues with DeepDiscount, but considering how many orders I've placed with them over the years, I have to say I've been satisfied overall. Never had a serious problem like receiving a CD without the jewel case. Slow shipping can be a bit of a drag, but it doesn't bother me that much. I must say I've been ordering a lot more from AmazWAN lately; I've been finding their prices just as good for the most part, and pretty much everything I want is in stock. (Also, helping out my second favorite web forum certainly doesn't hurt!)

Hmmm... so I email them to complain, and they're sending me two jewel cases. Wouldn't it just have been easier and cheaper to send the CDs in their original packaging?

So I got the second CD form my order today...in original case, cellophane and everything! Yay.
So maybe the case-less CD incident was a one-off OR DD might ship low value items caseless and higher value items in their proper packaging (my case-less CD was priced at 6.99, the other one at 13.79)

Never had a problem with DD until now.

Ordered a disc (Linda Ronstadt - Simple Dreams MoFi) that was "In Stock".
My CC was charged.
Couple of days later the site says No Stock, and my copy hasn't shipped yet (even though I've been billed).
Few more days pass, it's back "In Stock". Nothing happens.
Now the listings says "Ships directly from manufacturer". Never seen this before from DD.
Order still says "processing".
This has been going on for 2 weeks.
Will give them one more chance, if not satisfied will insist on a refund.

In the earlier days, back when their twice a year sale was really worth it, I never had problems with them. Over time, the service slipped significantly. My biggest gripe with them now is the whole "In Stock", "Out Of Stock" problem where they don't show you stock until you actually have something in your cart and even if they tell you something is "In Stock", it's often not really in stock. Their prices aren't even that great anymore, but what keeps me from doing any business with them is their total lack of reliability.

DD has gone majorly downhill in the past year or so. I used to order from them a lot with no problems and the wait was never that long - maybe like 1-2 weeks - and didn't have any major problems.

But last time I ordered from them it took something like 6-7 WEEKS b4 I got the DVD I ordered. And when it arrived, it came shipped in this really low quality envelope/package thing. Not the cardboard boxes they used to use.

As I understand it the company was bought out by somebody else and that coincides with the deterioration in service, stock, mailings, etc. I've read about too many problems being reported by people on different movie & music forums to probably ever use them again, especially after my last experience (which sucked).

I had tried them a few times with DVDs and had horrible results. Last year, I took a chance when they had the Woodstock CD boxed set for a very low price, and received in a just a few days. YMMV
