The London shows were the best of the early 78 European tour. Now if they'd only release a 77 show or a complete Bongo Fury tour show.

I'm with Charles, but the price is at least moving towards sane. MOFO was $22 more for one extra disc, and I never did get it.
This one, I probably will.

No - I posted the listing of the audie tapes to show the tunes that would be contained within - still top notch professional recordings - the London shows were the best of the tour

Over on Zappa.com this has been posted as the tracklist (in the forum section). Gail and the family are at the Roadhouse in London today starting a 3 day celebration. The release is supposed to be available to those in attendence.
Here is what the claim:
Purple Lagoon * Dancin’ Fool * Peaches En Regalia * The Torture Never Stops * Tryin’ To Grow A Chin * City Of Tiny Lites * Baby Snakes * A Pound For A Brown * I Have Been In You * Flakes * Broken Hearts Are For Assholes * Punky’s Whips * Titties & Beer * Dance Contest * Black Page #2 * Jones Crusher * Little House I Used To Live In * Dong Work For Yuda * Bobby Brown * Envelopes (with lyrics) * Disco Boy * Dinah Moe Humm * Camarillo Brillo * Muffin Man * Black Napkins * San Ber’dino * King Kong * Wild Love * Yo Mama * The Story Of The Three Assholes * Watermelon In Easter Hay
If that is the case - it is a pretty good selection (8 instrumentals! s/b lots of soloing)

Last week when Gail was asked about the release date of Roxy she said "not never" -
Can't find that on my Hallmark Calender...

There was a comedian on Conan that had a joke that makes me think of the Roxy thing...
He said he had a young nephew who saw Obama on TV, and he said, "Uncle Jon, will there ever be a white president again in my lifetime?" And he said, "How do you look at a four-year-old when he asks that and say, 'Well, Tommy, you have leukemia...'?"
I suspect if I tried to hold my breath for the Roxy DVD, it wouldn't be in my lifetime. And I thought it was a little insulting, given the demand and clamor for the Roxy DVD, that they announced they were doing a ZPZ Roxy DVD and it would be out first.

Got my notice the other day as well. Despite some pessimism about the ZFT camp, I am looking forward to it.

Mine is scheduled to be here the 22nd - 1st time I didn't do next day delivery...I'd love to take the 23rd off just to listen from start to finish - twice!
Over at ZAPPA.com Gail is taking questions - She will answer 100 of them...I think I sent in 50 questions on my own...maybe I'll get 1 or 2 answered.

This arrived yesterday as did the Hendrix box and the Brewseter McCloud DVD...gotta go to a wedding all day today...
Great sound!
Great band! Great selection of tunes - my only regret in no Yer Mama or no Wild Love - for that I have to go to Sheik Yerbouti or the auddy tapes of that era...
Different arrangements on several songs that have been released several times.
The guitar and keyboard solos are great.
The outer packaging is a little flimsey but the graphics and liner notes are top notch (the non-rock Peter Wolf writes about his audition and life in the band and some post-member meetings with FZ.
The Hendrix has some excellent cut and some for collectors only.. Brewster McCloud will have to wait a day or so.

That's on thing I'll say for FZ (at least post-Mothers period), like some of the old jazz guys each performance is different enough to easily justify multple purchases of the same songs.

I just finished listening to the whole thing. Definitely worth it. Great sound...mostly great performances. My favorite parts are disc 2 Punky's Whips through Little House, King Kong and the early version of Watermelon...which still sounds beautiful in an earlier faster arrangement. Hate to bitch, but still can't get over....... Charles wrote: Robert Meagher wrote: It looks like Wild Love * Yo Mama * The Story Of The Three Assholes didn't make the cut...damn! I'm disappointed.if true........Wild Love/Yo Mama is what I was looking forward to the most. Neither have been of official live releases yet. If it was spacing issues, there are already too many Dinah Moe Humms and Camarillo Brillos out there. If I had to list a favorite top 10 Zappa album sides, side 4 of SY would be one of them, and going by how great and tight most of this CD is, those 2 songs would have been highlights......and I think the only weaker spot on this set are the 2 other songs I mentioned above. They play both really fast as if they are toss-offs they've been playing all the time.....he even notes a audience member sleeping at the end of Dinah Moe. These two have been on so many official live releases that I would have rather had the other. At this point, the only thing less likely than the Roxy DVD is Wild Love/Yo Mama showing up on a live release. Still glad I bought this.
