Joe Satriani, one of rock music's most renowned electric guitarists, has announced details of his highly anticipated 14th studio album, "Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards". The album will be made available in the U.S. on October 5 (one day earlier internationally) via Epic Records.

On "Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards", Satriani's classic sound is accompanied by a surprisingly rich new texture. The first single, "Light Years Away", is destined to be a hit, alongside several other high energy offerings, like "Wormhole Wizards" and "Premonition".

"Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards" track listing:

01. Premonition
02. Dream Song
03. Pyrrhic Victoria
04. Light Years Away
05. Solitude
06. Littlleworth Lane
07. The Golden Room
08. Two Sides To Every Story
09. Wormhole Wizards
10. Wind In The Trees
11. God Is Crying

Satriani joined with former VAN HALEN front man Sammy Hagar, former bassist Michael Anthony, and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' drummer Chad Smith to form the stand-out rock collaboration CHICKENFOOT. After a highly successful world tour, their self-titled debut album was certified gold in the U.S. by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies.

Over the last two decades, Joe Satriani has traveled the world, playing to sold-out crowds as both a headliner and as founder of the all-star "G3" guitar extravaganza. As one of the world's most renowned instrumental artists, Satriani recorded "Live in Paris: I Just Wanna Rock!" in 2008 at The Grand Rex Theater in Paris, France. The live two-disc CD and DVD was released in February 2010 through Epic Records and contained such memorable songs as "Surfing With The Alien", "Flying In A Blue Dream", along with recent hits like "Super Colossal" and "I Just Wanna Rock". Of his many solo albums, two have gone platinum and four others went gold, with 15 Grammy nominations between them.

Just looked this up on BestBuy's website and apparently they have a version for sale there with 2 exclusive tracks. Guess I will try getting it there. Fingers crossed the 2 extra tracks are ON the CD itself instead of one of those deals (like with Gilmour's last album) where they are on some kind of bonus disc (which they don't have in stock and no one there knows where it is or how to get it).

The songs are on the physical disc. Or so it appears by the packaging. However, was priced at $13.99 in store. Needed to do an online price match to get the $9.99 price.

THANKS for the info.

I will definitely bring with me the website ad. I'm wise to that trick now - the last 2 things I bought at BB would have cost me way more than what I ended up paying (thanks to asking for price matching). They even matched an Amazon price - or actually bettered it - on the Black Country Communion that I bought last time.

With Best Buy, you should also have the option of ordering online and arranging for in-store pickup... no extra charge, and saves you the hassle in advance of coming home empty handed should your local be out of stock.

Right, that is good advice, I have used that before.

I don't want to be putting stuff on my credit cards now though, just want to pay the old fashioned way (cash). I think you have to use a credit card (or I guess a debit card would work) to do the website ordering (??).

Was able to get the Satch today no problem. Has the bonus tracks as mentioned by Breeze. Like he said, I had to ask for the website pricematch (otherwise was $4 more).

Legendary guitarist Joe Satriani will appear on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on Monday, November 29.

Satriani will join Rickey Minor and The Tonight Show Band throughout the entire program and will perform some of his signature songs, as well as various rock favorites.

On the road in support of his latest, “Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards,” Satriani just completed a European tour, and kicks off a series of North American dates on December 1 in Atlanta.
