Four worlds, four versions of Spider-Man (Amazing, Noir, 2099, Ultimate/Symbiote) all with different styles of gameplay, and a story written by Dan Slott. Anyone planning on getting this?

Oh, and the actors voicing each of the versions of Spider-Man are:
Amazing: Neil Patrick Harris (MTV cartoon) Noir: Christopher Daniel Barnes (90s cartoon) 2099: Dan Gilvezan (Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends) Ultimate: Josh Keaton (Spectacular Spider-Man)

Now that is cool! I've liked the trailers I have seen of this. I think I'll pick up a copy (as soon as it hits the used games rack of course!)

So as stated previously, the Wii version is content identical to the 360/PS3 versions, with the only real difference being the controls. And really, the only major difference between the Wii and other versions' controls is that they occasionally implement motions. For instance in the Noir universe I had to yank back with the Wii remote and nunchuck to rip off doors, or sometimes quickly shake the nunchuck to do a stealth take down. In truth the Wii motion and pointing controls are used sparingly, only filling in where it makes sense due to the lack of similar button layout between the Wii and 360/PS3 controllers.
If you find the occasional shake of a controller -- or moment where you have to point the remote at the screen -- to be annoying, then this version might turn you off, but really it's not all that intrusive. If you only own a Wii and are eagerly awaiting Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions then you should thank your lucky stars. A lot of other times you'd have been saddled with a lesser version of a game that's made by a completely different developer, sharing only a name with the game you've read about time and time again. This time around, however, you've got the real deal, a game on par in every way it can be with its 360/PS3 cousins.

I'm looking forward to this, and I haven't played video games since the halcyon days of the N64 system. Perfect Dark was the last game I was excited about playing.
I was at a friend's house the other day, and got his eight year old son to look up the trailer for this game. I think it was the first time I've ever seen that kid stop talking for more than ten consecutive seconds. He was stunned. He watched the trailer all the way through about four times, without saying a word.
My friend said "Thanks for that, mate" and just shook his head at me - he knew he wasn't going to hear the end of it. That kid will be getting that game, of that I have no doubt.

I have no kids. I live a quiet life.
I'll be buying this game the day the PC version comes out over here, along with a wireless controller, and I'll be playing it like the video game addict I was in my twenties.
