No, this does not have to do with the band or the show. The rules are simple for those who want to play. Each week of the NFL season one hour BEFORE kickoff of the first game (that would be this week Thursday at 7:30 pm), just send your pick to my IM box. Pick one team to win. They win-you advance, They lose, you're out. You can only pick that team once, so choose wisely. Each week I'll post the results. It's not for money obviously, but it is fun. I will post who has used which team and who is left each week. Hopefully, we'll get people to play. If not, my feelings will be totally crushed. (Not really). This is open to everyone of course-even if you don't watch football (are you human???) this is simple.

And if someone else has already picked my team, do I choose again, or what?

Correct-except everyone can pick the same team as long as they have them left. i.e. Renny picks Green Bay week 1 and so do you. GB wins you both advance but cannot use GB again. Week 1 is the toughest since nobody really has a clue who is actually good yet and a monster injury can change any game.

Renny wrote: and if my team loses am i out forever This would also be correct. Going out Week 1 is awful but it's always nice if a bunch of people pick the same team who bites the dust! We always used to do this at a local bar where everyone out in $25. One year it went all the way to Week 10 and it was just me and a another guy for 2 weeks straight. The following week he asked if I wanted to split the pot and call it quits. I was tempted but I said I'd rather have all or nothing just like the Small Faces. I won that week-I felt kinda bad but not so much. I won around $625 if I remember.

I played in one of these in '02 during the Texans' first year. We lost half when they won game 1.

Renny wrote: do i have to wait until thursday to pick my team? No-send it any time you're ready. I hope we have enough people on here to play to make it worthwhile. With all the football fans on here, I hope so. It literally takes one minute to do it. If we end up with less than 5 people it will be lame. Still time to go. I should also add-there's no need to do it before Thursday. If you don't pick either team Thursday, by all means you have until Sunday 12 pm.

We're up to 3 people so far. C'mon, you know you want to play. You have until Sunday. I'm sure you're just pondering things aren't you?

Pete,
I'll try to remember to play! Just have to figure out which team to lose for the rest of the year.

We're up to 4 players so far. I know the numbers will increase. I will sweeten the pot-the winner gets a copy of the Hanson Christmas album.

The numbers are increasing, but we need more. More I say! Actually, we are starting to reach a decent number. I myself have yet to choose, but I think I know who I want, yet I could see it being a stupid Week One upset. Getting past Week One is actually quite difficult. Even if you take the biggest favorite via the spread, you don't want to waste a great team right off the bat. Of course, you can hope everyone does and they all lose! I will post all selections before kickoff on Sunday. Anyway, we still have until Sunday unless someone dares take Thursday's game which would be ballsy.

Thus far we're at 7 players and nobody selected that game yet. I doubt they will!

I think it'd be more fair to close the voting before any of that week's games, whether someone picks that game or not. Just like how fantasy football works. But I'm not running it.

We're approaching double digit participation-good to see. Keep 'em coming until Sunday (perferrably Saturday night-it would be easier). Noboy has taken my team yet-that might be a bad thing for me!
