Bon Jovi will release a new, best-of compilation, simply titled Greatest Hits, on November 9. "Music marks milestones in all our lives," said Jon Bon Jovi. "These songs have stood the test of time and they remind us all where we came from, even as we keep our eyes towards the future."
Greatest Hits will be out in a one-disc and two-disc version. The one-disc, 16-song set includes two new songs, including a new single "What Do You Got?," which will impact radio by the end of August. Greatest Hits - The Ultimate Collection, will feature 28 tracks and two additional, brand-new songs.
The four new songs ("The More Things Change," "No Apologies," "This Is Love, This Is Life" and the first single, "What Do You Got?") were written specifically for Greatest Hits.

I'll be very surprised if this set has "She Don't Know Me", my favorite Bon Jovi song of all.
Hah-my favorite song too! Brings back memories of the summer of '84 for me-love that song. We saw them open for Scorpions in Philly at the Spectrum that summer as well. They better include that but they won't and if they don't I'd be less inclined to pick it up. I'm not a huge fan, but if thsi 2CD best of is done right it will be worth it. I was wondering when they'd ever get around to a 2CD comp. I'd also hope it includes "On The Edge Of A Broken Heart" which holds the distinction of being the first song to reach the Top 40 on airplay only in 1987. I think it was from the soundtrack of some terrible movie like Disorderlies or something. I'm sure this comp will be missing plenty of songs though-they always do.

Thanks for posting Linda. I count 23 songs at the most that could be considered "greatest hits". It's not entitled "anthology" or "best of", so that's why i guess these would be on the 2 CD version. I know I've probably missed a couple, but here's the list...
Runaway She Don't Know Me In & Out Of Love Only Lonely You Give Love A Bad Name Livin' On A Prayer Wanted Dead Or Alive Never Say Goodbye Bad Medicine Born To Be My Baby Lay Your Hands On Me I''ll Be There For You Living In SIn Keep The Faith Bed Of Roses This Ain't A Love Song Always It's My Life Who Says You Can't Go Home Have A Nice Day You Want To Make A Memory Blaze Of Glory (maybe) Edge Of A Brokenn Heart (maybe)

Hopefully this compilation will be chronological, because it would be sacriligious to follow up a song like "You Give Love a Bad Name" with some lite-country number like "Who Says You Can't Go Home."

Crossroads has 13 songs that will likely end up on this compilation-maybe 12 if you knock out Blaze of Glory. Throw in the 4 new tracks and you're left with 11 or 12 spots between the 6 (These Days, Crush, Bounce, HAND, Lost Highway and The Circle) discs that have come out since Crossroads. My guess would be that leave us with the following:
This Aint A Love Song Something for the Pain Its My Life Just Older Everyday Misunderstood HAND Who Says Lost Highway You Want to Make A Memory We Weren't Born to Follow When We Were Beautiful

The band does, in fact, disown "She Don't Know Me" as a something forced on them, so it's nice to see the song make it onto a best-of comp. And, as many agree, it's certainly their best hit.

All I've read is speculation on the tracklist -- there's no confirmation anywhere in this thread that "She Don't Know Me" will be included in the released product.

"She Don't Me" is a GREAT song that should have been a huge hit. Allmusic.com says it peaked at #48 on the Billboard Hot 100. Surely it was played heavily in New Jersey in 1984. Right? I do hope it makes the tracklist.

Yes, it is a great song and yes, it did not reach the Top 40 somehow. Here in NJ/Philly it was played a lot (but limped only to #44 on the AOR charts), and it was also played constantly on MTV-chest hair included. Yet, I know it will not be on this comp which will prevent me from buying it.

Okay, now I'm gonna have to find a way to hear "She Don't Know Me" because of all the raves it's gotten here. Honestly, the first Bon Jovi song I ever liked was "It's My Life" and I still don't like any of their songs from the 80s and 90s, but I am curious.

Whether one likes it or not, IMO "She Don't Know Me" is pretty generic stuff... there's not much here that's indicative of, say, the band's more signature Slippery-era sound.

And "You Give Love A Bad name" isn't generic?

Not saying that it isn't, but I think the latter is instantly recognizable as Bon Jovi whereas I wouldn't have been able to identify the artist behind "She Don't Know Me" if I didn't already know that information...

"She Don't Know Me" is very similar to the Franke & The Knockouts track, "You Don't Want Me". In fact Tico Torres played the same drum pattern on both songs!
