Okay, this list skews towards newies, not really my scene, but there are some good ones on the list. Full story on the website.

from http://www.scene-stealers.com/top-10s/t ... in-movies/

I know Eric and J.D. both did their Top 10 favorite soundtracks, and both of those lists were stellar. This is not what I’m doing here, however. I took 10 movie moments that stick out in my mind specifically because of the songs used in those moments. I had only had one rule in making this list—NO MUSICALS. I wanted to focus on non-musical motion pictures that have the ability to make us take more from a song than we originally would. In short, films that make the most of their music—films that use their music well.

10. “Super Freak” by Rick James, as used in Little Miss Sunshine

9. “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes, as used in Goodfellas

8. “Wise Up” by Aimee Mann, as used in Magnolia

7. “Stuck In The Middle” by Stealers Wheel, as used in Reservoir Dogs

6. “Sister Christian” by Night Ranger, as used in Boogie Nights

5. “Where Is My Mind” by The Pixies, as used in Fight Club

4. “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John, as used in Almost Famous

3. “The End” by The Doors, as used in Apocalypse Now

2. “A Quick One, While He’s Away” by The Who, as used in Rushmore

1. “Fight The Power” by Public Enemy, as used in Do The Right Thing

I have not seen all those, but those that I did, I agree with. Especially "Wise Up" and "Sister Christian".

I thought "The Devil's Rejects" use of "Freebird" for the last scene was perfect.

"in-a-gadda-da-vida" in "manhunter" was absolutely perfect.

Cool thread, this one. I think my absolute favorite is "Under Pressure" from Bowie and Queen used in Grosse Point Blank.

In Your Eyes from the movie Say Anything (1989).

Shocking its not in the Top Ten. An iconic moment in film.

The Crystals' "Then he Kissed me" in the long tracking shot in the restaurant scene in Goodfellas.

I don't like the Doors, but do like the use of the song "The End" during the opening credits of Apocalypse Now.

Yes.

I'll nominate "Stuck in the Middle With You" in Reservoir Dogs.

Tarantino is a master at this, and he's especially good at picking songs you once knew but had almost forgotten. My favorite Reservoir Dogs moment is the opening credits, as the guys walk in slow motion while the song "Little Green Bag" plays.

The use of surf instrumentals in Pulp Fiction was also great.

Not an actual movie, but the use of "Don't Fear The Reaper" at the beginning of the TV miniseries of The Stand was amazing.

Sure enjoyed "Hit the Road, Jack"/Ray Charles in "The Dream Team" w/Michael Keaton, Christopher Lloyd and Peter Boyle

That was good although it was an awful re-recording. "Don't Fear The Reaper" is used in Halloween simply playing on the radio as the girls are driving getting high unaware Michael Myers is behind them. I always thought that was clever.
Also:
"Afternoon Delight" in Anchorman-priceless.

I was going to say Sweet Emotion from Dazed and Confused.

Also, Bob Dylan's Hurricane in the scene where Wooderson enters the Emporium in slo mo. That music/shot just Quantum Leaped me back to high school.
